I love dying on this hill. Guinness is much lighter than people think. Less calories than a Budweiser, Heinken, Corona. Obviously it is heavier than Mich Ultra, Miller Lite, Bud light etc. It only feels heavy due to the color and nitrogen. It is dark because it is brewed with a different brewing process. If you are ever in Dublin the Guinness brewery does a great job explaining the process as you tour. Definitely a little cheesy and touristy but I enjoyed it.
Iām not a tour guy in general, but loved the Guinness tour while I was there.
Neil during his first Guinness toast

That seems like his golf game for sure, maybe his life.
The diving in to the ocean at the end spoke to me! That conversation you have with yourself everytime!
Also for the NLU guys the objective is to split the E on a pint of Guinnessā¦!
Tour is definitely worth it, as is the sky bar at the end. My only time there was back in the early 2000ās, and the ticket for the tour was an acrylic disk with a bubble of Guinness in the middle that you got to keep. Are they still doing that?
Hmm I was there in 2017 and dont remember that part. Now that I think of it, I dont think we did a āguided tourā. We just walked around on our own through everything. The only guided part was the tasting room.
Sky bar was awesome. Would have been happy to spend a bit more time up there but we had other things to get to.
Glad to see @MerchCzar Young Neil received schooling on slightly below room temperature dark beer.
That would stink if they got rid of those. It was one of the cooler souvenirs from the trip.
Definitely need to make my way back there at some point.
Can confirm they donāt give those away any more. The Guinness Storehouse still gives you a free pint and still has the Gravity Bar option, but you can also spend your token on a few other experiences, including a āStout Selfieā or something like that, where they print your image on the foam head atop your pint.
āThere goes your shot with AOC.ā
Hilarious!
not bad but pretty boring and too much time wasted on trump. Hopefully it gets better from here now that they donāt have to focus on that anymore.
Youāre in the vast minority on that take (as usual).
Episode was fantastic. Best single episode yet and setting up big things for this season. Love the vibes, guise. Keep it up!
donāt take it personally, I didnāt say it was bad, just view it as a step down from previous seasons.
And less alcohol than even a normal Coors/Bud/Miller light.
Due to a quirk in a former Colorado liquor law, it was once threatened that the state was going to pull Guinness out of the bars and restrict sales to grocery stores only due to our 3.2 laws. (Guinness is only a fraction higher than 3.2 ABW, alcohol by weight). It was a bit of political football and really didnāt go anywhere, but it was close enough to 3.2 ABW to be something to debate.
Murphys Stout is similarly low in alcohol.
How scummy. Not using the mats at the Doolin Pitch n Putt. Not sure if they were given the green light but I was given strict orders to stay on the mat there (about 15 years ago). Someone came out and told me buddy heād been watching him, and he didnāt want to see it again.
edit: I apologize. That was the Dingle pitch and putt
also, a properly poured pint of Guinness is the best drink ever created.
Would you rather they didnāt address the elephant in the room at all? Imagine the response/backlash if they chose not to.
I think they handled it very well; kept the politics out of it and shined light on how the club created opportunity for the local community.
I canāt imagine handling it any other way from their standpoint.
Did they change the 14th? Surprised not to see this look the same.
Also, Trump āissueā was handled really well.
When I played there in 2012 I believe the course record was a 71 or 73 held by Padraig Harrington. So I wasnāt surprised to here the crew say after 16 holes that no birdies had been made.
Came here to voice my concerns for potential jaundice, but this could be it too
