Some say the putt is still dropping in the hole to this day.

I didn’t love the course as much as some others. No idea why. It was interesting. As soon as the episode started with Soly talking about how early it was I started feeling sleepy. I’m not sure I ever recovered. :joy:

Fans of randy can feel satisfied. Not enough @TomCoyne but that might be the first bad shot I’ve ever seen from him. I wonder why his people didn’t insist that the footage be cut.

I am not sure who holds the last birdie card right now. @Tron?

Another great episode.

Is this any good?

From 1930 to 1966, Cecil Ewing, John Burke, and JB Carr won 28 of 36 possible titles. What a dynasty.

Also from what I can tell, they seem to have been playing each other in the final most of the time. Just a ridiculously dominant era.

Have to imagine that one hit the boys right in the feel penis standing there about to tee off. What a rendition!

I’ve played the course. It is really good. They hit on all the prominent features in the video:

  • uphill holes to start then back down the hill
  • brutally hard green to hit on the early par 3
  • cool hole going out to the point on the par 5
  • teeing off on the launching pad
  • the burn winding everywhere near the greens on the back nine
  • 17 is a MONSTER of a par 4

I don’t understand the lingo. What does feel penis mean?

17 is one of the cooler holes I’ve ever seen.

You don’t get that landscape and movement everywhere, but there needs to be more holes like it from a strategy standpoint in golf.

Do you think links golf is easier for high handicaps than parkland? I mean taking into account wind and local conditions. Would you say Sligo easier or harder than carne or lahinch for high handicaps? Thanks!

In general I think links golf is easier for high handicaps because the ball runs and you don’t have to carry it any substantial distance.

I think Sligo would be easier than Carne or Lahinch because the ground is generally tamer.

For someone’s first trip to Ireland do you think trying to stay in one or two areas best rather than trying to get all the name courses? Especially if really want to play two rounds per day?

Which area should be first and which courses. Say six rounds/three days.

Generally I’d agree. But what about high handicaps where length isn’t an issue. Some higher handicaps, (~15, or even 20) can hit the ball 275, 300, or more.
