Tourist Sauce, Ireland

Twist my arm

It might not snow per the weather forecast but I can assure we’ll see a snowman.

I had always planned on 18. Latest forecast was maybe rain but in the 50s, so we’ll be fine.

Morning ladies and gentlemen, one has graduated (somehow) and is feeling the effects of a rake of Guinness last night - Thank you for the well wishes yesterday. Currently in the process of finding an early bar to get some hair of the dog but long story short, yeah most of these courses are a bit of drive away from me but in Ireland everything is max 4 hours away which is savage but even the roads get too narrow even for us sometimes so anything is reachable

This is frustrating. 30 miles / 50 km. (as the crow flies) can take over an hour.

Same thing down by me in CT or talking with folks in RI. Dealing with a coast line creates the same challenges.

5-10 miles away as the crow flies can be 40 around the coast and take 30-60 minutes.

Rhode Islanders are hesitant to go anywhere more than 10 minutes away.

Well yeah 10 minutes from anywhere in Rhode island and you’re out of Rhode Island

I was very disappointed with Rhode Islands roads when I was there last year. For such a tiny state it takes a long time to get any where with the slow speed limits and local drivers.

I get what you mean but there’s good reasons why more direct, not necessarily better, roads aren’t built here. That general route of Limerick to Ballybunion onto Tralee and then Dingle/Waterville direction is never going to change because although the road might be complete shite, the views along the way are insane. Plus the southwest of Ireland is basically built on tourism so they will always lobby to keep the little old Ireland vibe

I’ve driven in 48 of the 50 states. Rhode Island has by far the worst drivers in the country.

MA drivers are not any good either, must be a New England thing (ducks)

I lived in CT for 6 months and went up to MA on several occasions. I am 100% sure MA drivers are the worst.

How are we defining worst?

I once saw someone on the New Jersey turnpike tailgate a cop for several miles

Incredibly on brand for NJ

As in they have no concept of the rules of driving. Not stopping at stop signs. Turning out into on-coming traffic and expecting cars at full speed to just stop. Straddling two lanes.

Have you driven in Miami?

it’s hard to be a bad driver in a parking lot

Miami drivers are crazy because they are all on cocaine.

Going 70 in the “breakdown lane.” Which has a fuckin name because NE drivers are garbage
