Tourist Sauce, Ireland

Almost every town in Ireland has a Jackie, and they’re all worth your love.

If you told me Jackie was aged anywhere between 35 and 58, I wouldn’t argue with you.

Payne Stewart beat you to her, by the looks of things.

But seriously, that was fucking incredible. The match-type stuff captures me more than the other ways they showcase the course, so I was super invested in that. My only quibble is that there could have been a touch more buildup/suspense/music changes during that hole, and the putt, to maybe make it more dramatic. Big-time music crescendo up to the time he hits the putt, then just whatever they captured on the mic as it’s rolling, then huge CRASH of music as it drops… idk, that’s what was happening in my brain at least

That accordion guy & group (family) did a performance at Ballybunion at the international MG back in Sept, they were impressive.

I was in stitches with the wink… so good.

I played Lahinch, Waterville, Ballybunion and Old Head back in 2018. I don’t get the love for Waterville. It just felt like a normal everyday course to me. Lahinch was my favorite, followed by Ballybunion, and Old Head. To each his own.

That said, I would go back to Ireland in a heartbeat .

Careful, now. You’re disturbing the spirit of Payne.

I can see that comparing Waterville to BB & Lahinch. But in my opinion is light years ahead of Old Head as a golf course. Old Head photographs better, that’s about it.

Fuck, waterville was pure as shit. @Booch what’s good mate? How far is that from ye?

Can’t beat golf at Waterville 2nd time I’ve played it and it just gets better, apologies free advertising for @callawaygolf :grinning:

that’s a tough read…

You’re literally choosing like 2 of the greatest courses in the country/world to say that Waterville doesn’t match up to it.

“I’ve played Shinnecock…in my eyes, it just can’t compete with Pine Valley and the Old Course.”

i.e. congrats on having played some of the greatest…don’t compare them too harshly, just enjoy them ALL!!!

The 4th at Waterville might be the craziest par 3 I’ve ever played. The wind can be doing anything on that hole, and if your tee shot isn’t on target, it might as well be a par 5. That said, it’s also gorgeous. The view from the tee box is the best on the front 9, imo.

100% this. I enjoyed in some of the older seasons where they talked about the games they were playing and we got invested as the viewer in the rounds of golf…along the way the course reveals itself. Some will say the CA season is below a few others on their ranking, but it was one of my favorites because the matches and story lines kept you coming back.

Technically I have nothing to come back for right now. I hear they are telling me these other courses are cool and I’m sure there will be good viewing…but whats the story-line here? Like if I miss it and watch it a few days later, ok. On the CA season I never missed it.

Everyone has their preference. Such is mine

This episode was my favorite this season so far…because we were able to get into TC and Neils match.

(and that putt looked good the whole way, sucks it was too windy to have audio!!)
