Tourist Sauce, Ireland

And its a Fazio…Tron’s guy #cheesecakefactory

How good does that course look though? Im a fan of our lovable hitters having variety, even though it may not be their “style”

Maybe we should leave the defining of their style to the NLU guys themselves? They/Soly did a good job with Korea, New Zealand, etc content that was more outside the box from their “bread & butter.” I’d rather wait until the content drops than pull out my jump to conclusions mat.

Between Adare and Doonbeg the whining and complaining for this trip has been exhausting. If you don’t like it just skip it.

Definitely important to keep in mind that the sponsor has a large impact on itinerary. It’s Golf Ireland so obviously they’re going to hit up the Irish course campaigning for a Ryder Cup. The course is immaculate and provides for plenty of non-golf activity. The show is Tourist Sauce, let them be tourists!

Looks like crew is LOVING Waterville.

Have the chance to play in a member guest there in September and was on the fence (young family at home). I think the fence is getting torn down.

Looking good for the youtube content going by instagram stories.

Can I make one small request @Soly would it be too outrageous to ask you and the boys to take off hats when you’re eating inside? It’s a really small thing, but my Irish mum and Scottish dad would go bananas if ever sat down to eat with a hat on. Maybe it’s an old school thing, maybe I’ll get heat for this…

loving the work, loving the memories you’re production conjures…

Was wondering this during the @HashtagChad learns to pour a Guinness video. Hats inside over there is bad form, or at least we were told that consistently (before we went inside!).

Asking someone who posts video content of a trip they are on to take their hat off when inside is hilarious. I’m sure mostly a joke.

I’m a hat wearer, have my whole life, and never really didn’t wear one until I started working after college or I was at a restaurant, as my parents taught me. Public school allowed it, as did classrooms in college.

HOWEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, I lived in London and traveled to Ireland in 2005 and a bunch since. Unless I’m on the golf course, I NEVER have a hat on.

I just dug up my itinerary from my most recent Irish links trip, from August 2007, and was shocked to see how inexpensive everything was back then. We played Lahinch, Connemara, Carne, Rosses Point, Enniscrone, Narin & Portnoo, Cruit Island, and Donegal and total greens fees were around 500 Euros, and Lahinch was the only course over 100 Euros. It looks like we would be paying nearly double that now at high season.

The boys seem to have had a great day in Belmullet playing Carne Golf Links, and why not? Belmullet sounds like a Grand place.

Gotta wonder what the replay rate is

As someone who has raved about Carne on this website and on the NLU twitter feed for years, I was actually a bit nervous yesterday that the fellas may not enjoy it. It looks like they all had a great day at my favorite course in Ireland (and it looks like they had awesome weather which will make the video look terrific). I’m psyched to see that and any tourism boost that Carne gets from their social media feeds will be well deserved for such a friendly course. I need to get my ass back to Belmullet soon!

Curiosity kills me, so I added it up.

Using the cheapest rate shown on the website (walking, weekday, online/advanced booking), those eight add up to €945. And still €890 if you take out Connemara and Cruit Island.

I need to find more money to save…

I have only played Carne once, and unfortunately my game was just awful that day - high spinny drives stood no chance in the winds, rain suit on and off at least 3 times, and we had substantial drives on both ends (woke up in Westport, stayed in Sligo that night). The other 3 guys in my group thought it was awesome, and I just kind moped through the round. I need to get back.

this was me at Portrush

Carne is a ripping course with some of the biggest and most dramatic dunes in Ireland. The Kilmore nine is spectacular and definitely worth playing, although it has been neglected a bit recently condition-wise.

The drive to get there through an apocalyptic, end-of-the-earth environment makes the destination even more special.

Watching Limerick get up over Galway in the All-Ireland hurling final last year with the locals in the Belmullet clubhouse is one of my favourite recent golf-related memories.

Curious - were Mayo folks for or against their Connacht neighbors? I suspect against based on football rivalry, but since Mayo has no real hurling tradition it could go the other way.

Disappointed there hasn’t been a wrap up pod of this trip.

They said yesterday on the pod an Ireland wrap will be coming soon - and the a Cali wrap up closer to tourist sauce s3.
