I watched most of season 3 on my big screen (not 4K) TV, and the quality was awesome. I second this.
OāConnors is probably my favorite bar I have ever been to. God I love Ireland.
It really is the best, OāConnors and Ireland. I have an alert on my internal company site for when job postings in Ireland pop up. The right one hasnāt shown up yet but the alert is there just in case.
Trying to convince my wife to retire there.
My wifeās from there, her whole family aside from her parents and brother, are still there. I think if I found the right opportunity sheād be on the plane before I could finish telling her about it.
She also said she was getting homesick watching the episode yesterday so well done to @djpie @Soly @Tron @Randy and @MerchCzar for capturing Ireland & the people so well. The rest of the season should be great.
Iāve been watching on my 4k TV since season 2. Very much worth it. I watch most of youtube on my tv now. Really convenient.
Is the video shot in 4K? I always watch on my 4K TV and it looks amazing, but I didnāt see 4K noted on the YouTube description. Either way, I highly recommend watching on the big screen.
Beautiful episode.
āHow dare you not focus on the golf course!ā I see in some pouty comments.
Yes, please tell me more about this failed Greg Norman design that isnāt even as old as Young Neil and had to be redone by someone Eric Trump selected. That sounds riveting.
I played Doonbeg on an Ireland trip back between 11th and 12th grade. Maybe Iām a pleb, but I enjoyed it. I still use a ball marker / repair tool I got from there 10 years ago. If I ever attend an NLU invitational, Iāll remember to leave it at home thoughā¦
You are literally Hitler.
Ya hate to see it.
Actually it kind of does. That sounds like a helluva story.
Agreed, Iām very much here for a roast of Greg Norman designs if we can do that.
The delivery was perfect! My favorite moment of the episode.
Agreed, along with another 15-20 pubs in Ireland that are all my favorites.
I can think of maybe 5 or 6 in The States that compare and Iāve been to 48 states and drankā¦wellā¦not something Iām proud of the older I get.
Agreed, but this just begs the question, why play here at all?
I may come across a bit disparaging here but ultimately I agree with you all. Doonbeg is a but meh, along with a group if friends weāve played every course that matters in Ireland and doonbeg is certainly the least inspiring and most disappointing when stacked against the rest. It doesnāt have the championship feel of RCD/rosses point/portmarnock or the fun and quirk like lahinch/Carne/Dooks. Itās exactly as the guys said⦠Meh⦠It was that way when it was the Norman design and it is now. It even shows up on deal sites for 60% off to get people on the course yet lahinch 30 minutes away is the busiest course in the country. As far as itās ranking, that one seems fishy to me. In any reputable ranking site itās at best top 20 and generally found between 15 and 30 in the top courses on the Island. Iāve played it pre trump and post trump and Iāll probably play it again but Iād never pay the top green fee they would look for so unless itās on a deal site id head somewhere else.
@JBors I think we a sidebar to pine for Irelandā¦
Iām on the chipping away plan for retirement on the island. Food being the only concern. (And I donāt find it that bad, but in the remote villages I aspire for, options are limited to fresh seafood over and over againā¦which is fine, but not in perpetuity).
See, I am obsessed with seafood. They also have a great local beef and sausage scene. It really is perfect.
