Will be great to see ya up here again
Heading to the Eagle River/Three Lakes area for vacation in the coming weeks.
Going to try to play Plum Lake when I am up there and just heard about Big Stone GC in Three Lakes. Anyone ever play Big Stone? Seems like a fun little muni.
Never played Big Stone, but St. Germain would be worth peeking at, if you’ve never been. Pretty tight in spots, but a fun layout. I also worked at Plum Lake for a summer in high school and still get out there 2-3 times a year when I’m up at my parents place. The greens get better every year. They’ll never run at like a 12, but they’re as pure as any up north.
Random question, but I’m assuming someone on here has eaten at both.
Playing Wild Rock in the morning and Trappers Turn in the afternoon this weekend, any opinions on which has the better lunch?
I might be in the minority here, but Trappers. Used to go to their Thanksgiving Buffet and it was really good too.
Second Trappers. The food at WR is, fine, I guess. It’s standard bar food, where Trappers seems to actually try.
Are any of you going to be around Friday afternoon looking for a round? I booked a 3:10 at Wash Co, staying in Delafield. Not participating Saturday but would be cool to put some faces to some names if anyone wants to meet up.
Edit: That was quick, will see some of you at Grant
If you’re not dead set on playing WashCo, there’s a group of us playing at Grant Park near the airport on Friday afternoon.
Thankfully my LivPur order showed up early, just saw it’s gonna be 92 with a heat index of 100 at WashCo on Saturday.
Orange Mango for the win, heatstroke for the loss.
Whaddup squad. I’ve been working on an SCC hat that I thought the boys would dig. Looking to dial in the order quantity, so if you want to reserve one, please do so in this sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15BqA6DjFuM3HD_fNYdKY7r2pHJyiScHyjI8O_R94c84/edit?gid=0#gid=0
good job dad!
@andrewf
What day. Gotta be in it to win it. I’m jamming on some Victory Culver’s as I type. More tomorrow as I recover from heat stroke and shock.
I just took a sip of Eagle Rare at Eddie Martini’s and realized how windburned my lips/face are.
The entire bottle of sunscreen I used today seems to have done its job at least.
I was proud that I applied sunscreen four times. It was met with “really?”
Can’t blow this spirit away, what a day.
@Adunndo were you just standing over a golf ball? There was a 40mph gust. Every time that happened yesterday you were addressing a golf ball.
Well.
I wasn’t even sure I’d be able to play at Washington County earlier this month, so I was honestly just happy to make it up there. It’s been a busy month and I woke up Friday after The Meltdown feeling like a dehydrated husk of a person. I love this course and yesterday was a blast (furnace).
Thanks to The Supper Club, @mikedabomb, @midwestgolfbum, @blakehall, @Snyderdj and everyone who helped to organize the event. The Evans Scholars caddies were a great addition, and it was an extra special treat to get a @TCRBrad in the wild sighting.
As always, the best part of these events is seeing so many familiar faces and adding new folks to the long list of excellent playing partners.
See a lot of you in Green Lake in a few weeks!
Edit: Shit! I forgot @flanwilder and the sick trophy pedestal!
Thrilled to see it in the wild
