We are all too busy apologizing to each other and talking about the weather.
but when in doubt, blame Ohio
Time to vote, worst hole 15?
- Quit Qui Oc #15
- Timber Ridge #15
Bumping this poll as we currently have a tie
Not anymore
This is late but I would encourage everyone to consider #15 at Glacier Woods in Iola. A true horse shoe hole with no way of taking it over the trees for your second shot, mostly unable to hit driver off the tee unless you have the perfect banana ball, and have a super tight lay up window with a small elevated green.
If we’re starting hole 16 nominations, I have been waiting to get University Ridge’s 16th into this. RTJ, Jr got himself a little too deep into his bag and this is frankly something you’d see on an overdone design by his bro, Rees.
It has everything (s/o Stefan), a too narrow landing area for the tee shot, the illusion of optionality with the apron to the right of the green when in reality it’s an awful place to be for most pins, an egregious amount of bunkers (most of which are not in play), and the pièce de résistance of course is the tree that serves to block the majority of access to the green not only for those going for the green in two, but also blocking the right sided pins for people coming into the green the “safe way” from the left.
To top it all off, this 554 yd (from the tips) par 5 has the name on the scorecard, “Bunkered.” In reality, “Blundered,” would be a more apt choice.
Gonna count this in the honorable mentions category since we had already begun, but yeah looks pretty bad.
Certainly an odd hole, I have it down on the list but voting is still open for #15 for at least a bit longer.
This hole is like driver 8 iron most days, it’s fine. You take it at the stupid clump of trees in the middle and send it. Little down wind you just hammer it down the left side to the upper fairway and flip a wedge on.
your club head speed privilege is showing
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Get #Stacked
Driver 6 Iron, but if bragging is your thing, keep going…
That tee shot is VERY downhill, which helps a lot.
Your strategies off the tee are spot on. I don’t think I’ve ever had 8i in, but nothing more than a 4i. I don’t mind this hole at all. One of the more odd ones on the course for sure, but not worst 16th in the state I doubt.
Worst 16 in the state is the bull. It might be the worst hole in golf. All of golf. Period. Fuck the bull.

Nominations for hole 16?
I already have #16 U Ridge down
I humbly present, the worst hole in golf, #16 at The Bull.
Very uphill tee shot slinging to the left, if you hit straight away anything longer that 200 is gone into the right trees. So better hit a draw, or cut off as much as you dare. If you’ve accomplished that now the fun starts. A set of trees on each side smothering your approach while an unplayable ravine you must carry short essentially makes the approach shot a field goal with a mid iron you must hit to avoid double bogey. I’ve been Cody Parkey’d many times by these trees.
Get thru the shoot, three tiered green with severe slopes. Oh and if you get thru the shoot and don’t hit the green, anything long or left is dead due to severe slopes and bunkers. Detonate this hole from existence.
Don’t forget the right trees short of the ravine blocking out an approach from anything on the right 25% of the fairway
