Want to give my appreciation to the RACDG, especially the NC/SC chapter. Played a One Day CGA Tournament at Tobacco Road GC yesterday. I actually won my flight, the B flight which are 8 HCs and above. Would never have thought I had a shot at winning the gross being a 13 HC, basically being 5 shots off the cut line. Having met and played with so many new people over the last 5 months thru the RACDG made me feel a little more at ease on the tee box with guys who were lower HCs. Also, there’s the inspiration of watching a group of golfers who are eager to improve and have fun. Even got to see @Very.chipper shatter breaking par (65 I believe) for the first time on the second 18 of the day after the tournament.

It was so much fun to follow the guis at Tobacco Road yesterday via Golf Genius and WhatsApp. The follow up round @Are_you_double_D @Very.chipper @AirMailWedges and @turtle812 was just as much fun to follow, particularly when we heard Very Chipper was -4.

Very chipper chipped in for Birdie on 18 to finish at -6 while we were all cheering him on virtually.

*** RACDG MERCH - FINALLY ***

Guis

After a lot of faffing about we have finally got our fingers out and arranged some merch for RACDG members. Ever since we started this in November 2018 people have been asking about getting some sweet merch they can wear on the course and frankly it was a pain for me as I live in the Uk and most of you live in the US. But, I’ve finally figured out a way to do that isnt to much of a ballache for me.

As you may or may not know, the society had a logo drawn up a month or two ago and the concept is that each chapter is allowed to personalise it. They can then make up their own line of merch with their personalised chapter logo. But, that meant no-one had the base society gear on anything, until now.

Below is a list of what we have, or more specifically, what we’re going to order. All this comes from reputable places so its good quality gear. I have a Google sheet set up here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ycrCxrqk6kJ8zQEdSVZUpPl1k9vyOsVHAJsxBd9lY6s/edit#gid=0

In it you’ll find everything we’re proposing listed (i’ll go over it below). We’re going to do this in 2 rounds. At first, just stick down whatever you want. Once we get an idea of numbers we’ll then have to drop the items that nobody seems to want too much and let the people who have chosen them decide what they’d like instead. I’ll give it about a week between round 1 & 2. I’ll then set up a PayPal for everyone to order it and we’ll go from there. Lead time will probably be 4 - 6 weeks by the time we get the orders in, get everything shipped to my home in Idaho and then sent on from there to you.

So, here’s what we got. I have mocked up roughly what they will all look like so you get an idea. We have also had some made for the UK members with our logo, so there are a couple of actual pics I can show you with them in the flesh, just a slightly different version of the logo.

HATS

These are all coming from Imperial and for the most part are similar o the NLU hats, so Ive just charged the same as them.

Performance Hats $30

We’re gonna offer these in Black (w/ white logo), Grey (w/ black logo), Navy (w/ white logo) and White (w/ navy logo) for now and see who wants what. We need a minimum order for each style and colour but these colours seem to be the most popular in the UK with our members.

Standard cap - Navy - Standard (White)

Rope Hats $30

Again, a few colour combos here - Black (w/ white), Grey (w/ black), Navy (w/ white) & White (w/ navy (its black in the image but will be navy).

It is also possible to do the rope hats with the Roundel version of the logo, which would look more like this:

Happy to see what everyone thinks an which would be the preferred option. If you’d like the Roundel please out an ‘R’ next to your order in the spreadsheet.

Trucker Hats $30

Similar deal here. Black (w/ white), Grey (w/ black) or Navy (w/ white)

We also did a blue and grey one in the UK which is nice and which I can do again in the US. Here’s a pic of the UK version in the flesh. We actually don’t like the size of the logo so they are redoing them a little smaller, but you get the idea.

Trucker GB&I

Visors $25

These can be available in black (w/ white), grey (w/ black or white (w/ navy).

Bucket Hats $35

(For now just express an interest - we’ll take sizes when we take final orders).

Just doing black and navy stripes for now.

These images have the RACDG Roundel on them. We can keep the roundel or we can go with the standard logo, which will look like this:

Looking for some feedback on which is preferred, so please put a ‘S’ in the spreadsheet next to your order to say you’d prefer is straight rather than roundel.

OTHER COOL SHIT

T-shirts $25

Going to do a couple of basic T’s for now in charcoal (w/ white) or grey (w/ black).

Hoodies (cost not available yet)

I may also do a couple of hoodies in charcoal and navy if there is an interest. I haven’t sourced them or done any mock ups yet but just stick a tick in that box if there’s an interest and if there is I’ll look into it. I know I’d like one if we can get a few people to make the order worth while.

Towels (cost not available yet)

I will do some towels. I’m just struggling to get the damn suppliers to get back to me at the minute and I want to do really nice ones, so they will be on the higher end of the scale price wise. Again, show an interest and I’ll chase if if enough people want one.

Tees $25 for 100

We did a run of tees form Western Birch in the UK over Lockdown and they are expensive but brilliant. You can go two rounds and not break the shaft of these buggers. So I’m going to do another batch and send them out to anyone who wants to buy some. They will probably be in two colour options, probably Southern Fury and Southern Fury 2 (the natural and white version of red and black.

Each tee will have the roundel printed on the top:

Ball Markers $35

These are a bit trickier but we had a bunch made for an event we ran in the UK in June and the quality of them really shocked us all, so I wanted to see if I could share those with the US members. The idea would be me getting them made in the UK and shipped over to my home in the US, then sent on from there. If enough people want one then I’ll go ahead and do that. If not, we’ll leave it for now.

This is a pic of what the ones for our event looked like:

They are lazer etched and made from a sort of nickel bronze material which will look better and better as it tarnishes.

The design on the standard society ones will look like this:

And that’s it!

Again, this needs to be in two stages, so please jot down in the Google sheet what you think you might like. It’s not a commitment at this point as we just need to narrow down what we’d like to be on the final list. Only once we do that will we ask you to commit to the final list of items and think about paying.

Here’s the link again to the sheet. I have made sure the edit function is turned on but Google has a habit of changing that every now and again, so let me know if it fucks up and I’ll do it again.

Suggestion to order the Imperial Geyser Buckets, they are so good. Easy to keep clean and dry quickly.

Happy to take suggestions on things like that and go with the flow. If we get enough orders for everything, plus other things in the Imperial collection, we can just add them to the list.

I’ve got a regular Imperial bucket and a Geyser. The Geyser is a better hat overall IMO.

I put myself down for one of the Imperial hats, but would prefer the XL size if there is enough other interest.

We’ll do sizes for hats and t-shirts etc in round two when I’m taking actual orders. The reason the buckets are a little more expensive is that they are size dependent, so should be fine.

Hey guys. New forum member checking in from London, U.K. I’d love to get involved with anything going on around London or the U.K.

Towels - are we going waffle?

Also, on ballmarkers - are those coin size or poker chip size?

I’m not sure yet with the towels. I may find a fluffy version and a waffle version and let people choose. For some reason the towel companies have been terrible at getting back to me.

The markers are between the two. Very chunky and heavy, but not as big as a casino chip. Think they’re just about an inch in diameter. Maybe a touch more.

So what’s the deal with the ball markers (in the U.S.)? I can never seem to have enough of the big heavy metal ball markers that I never use on the course. When can we get some?

And they are beautiful. They look lovely starting up at you from the green as I prepare for my 4th putt of the hole. Would recommend :open_hands:t2:

Just gotta put the order in and get em made. Takes a couple of weeks.

I forgot to mention in the big post that I can get up to 3 initials on each one to personalise them.

** UPDATE **

I have given everyone 2 weeks (ish) to add orders and just gone through and narrowed it down by removing the things either no-one wanted, or that had very low numbers. I have contacted those who cant get what they wanted.

So the reduced sheet is now the final list of available items. If you haven’t already done so, go in and stick your name down for something.

I’ll give it a few days and then start taking money and ordering things by the start of next week.
