I apologize for this. Not my intent at all, and I can see how people could take it that way. TC and I actually planned on making the event, but schedules didn’t work out. Now I have played it once, and I cannot wait to go back.
I first heard of Lawsonia due to Vol 3 of Doaks book. My wife got it for me as a Christmas present in 2016 I believe. In 2018 my jaw hit the floor when Andy did the video on it. I was hooked then and knew I had to be a place I needed to checkout. In June when we were at Sand Valley I wanted to hit it on the way home but couldn’t. DJ and I did a Crash Course podcast on it earlier this summer. He raved like everyone else.
When I posted the picture with the caption it was a full circle moment for me. That was all. It also made me chuckle because I was sitting with Akbar (Seamus Golf) who I had just met. He brought up Andy’s video as to what turned him onto the course.

I get it, and probably read this more from a “cool, guess we don’t fucking matter” standpoint more than how others might have found the place. I also forget living 90 minutes away from there my entire life, that it might not be on the radar like other places are.

I feel like they do a pretty good job talking about events here and there during the first few minutes of TrapDraws and during the montly Nest Podcast. They run a golf media company where they do fun videos at golf courses, and podcasts with Pro golfers, and journalists. I’m not sure talking about Refuge events is really high on the list of shit to talk about, plus only a handful of people on the Refuge, which is a very small % of NLU listeners, give a shit if they talk about 40 Refuge events.
