I think the point was that friedegg and others helped get Lawsonia noticed a while back. See articles from Fried Egg in 2018 (cursory search of google for their posts)

Plausible. Possible overreaction on my part as well, but it certainly feels like some events get highlighted and others mentioned in passing if not ignored completely

I suppose that’s fair, but it was also not the first time a larger scale refuge event (with 3 feeder events into it, no less) was forgotten about.

I haven’t really been keeping tallies about what events have been highlighted on their feeds but I do see them share posts from refugees at events fairly often. I doubt they have a rule about it and just share posts whenever they notice them/whenever one of them is in attendance.

They don’t, it’s just the tone of “if it weren’t for such and such we never would’ve known about this place” when there was a 60+ person Refuge meetup there like a month prior
Edit: not egregious to be sure, but when we’re all paying for their board that made it possible it can come off as a “fuck them kids”

I guess if you read it with that tone, but I’d also say it’s pretty safe to say that TFE had a bigger role in putting it on the map than 60 refugees

Maybe….just maybe….our favorite Zero Dark Thirty rep wasn’t as up to speed with the events. Dude deserves a little slack and I can confirm that @Tron was attempting to attend but it was too close to a whole lot of other travel.

It’s been on the top 100 courses you can play list since at least 2016. It’s not a new secret because TFE went there and talked about it in 2018.
