My man! Appreciate the redirection!
This has the potential to be great or a dud. But I guess @KVV can schedule 4 perfect clubs for 2027
I don’t know if anyone else has gone back to watch the rerelease of the 1970 film but it’s very strange after seeing Get Back. Maybe we can get a follow up perfect club in the future @KVV ? It certainly wasn’t as negative as I had heard about but without having seen get back I don’t understand how this film would make any sense. It’s essentially a bunch of random clips and takes spliced together haphazardly and out of order in some cases. There is no reference as to why they left Twickenham for Apple Studios or why Billy Preston appears out of nowhere. They also completely omit any discussions about the plans for the show. The pacing feels rushed after watching all 8 hours of get back but also dragging without any context or narrative around what’s happening on screen. I think the most interesting part was the discussion between Peter Jackson and Michael Lindsey-Hogg prior to the film. It provides a little insight into how Michael was processing everything in real time in 1969. I think it gets a little lost after 50 years that at the time they didn’t know what was going to happen with any of the songs, the album, or the band.
