Excited to drop a link to this one. Mr. Pie and Mr. Poosh allowed me to serve as the Beatles novice on a deep dive into “Get Back” that I hope you’ll enjoy. I think we could have gone another hour, easily, if I didn’t have to pick up my kids from school. Please forgive what I’m sure was some Beatles ignorance, as I mostly just wanted to be the Ringo to their John and Paul. (Obviously Randy is George, and his absence speaks for itself.)
Really enjoyed the pod! Great to hear some insights from Poosh comparing and contrasting his and Iration’s process to what we see in Get Back. Also @KVV ’s impersonations killed me every time.
It took me like 6 times to get through episode one because I kept stopping it to go play piano. Really made me wish I had a crew to hang with and play music and be creative etc. Will be neat to hear Poosh’s input on that
Pumped to listen. I haven’t watched it yet but last year during quarantine I did a full listen through their discography in chronological order. Have a really great snapshot of their musical and career progressions. Excited to watch and listen.
I ejected from the film/series pretty quickly, and I love the Beatles. I think I’m more intrigued to listen to the three of you degenerates chop it up, @KVV, than I was to listen to the actual banter in Get Back.
Thanks @Pooshdaddy and @djpie for discussing the Abbey Road medley, that’s my favorite Beatles song (even if it’s a couple of songs that are 1 in my mind).
Really digging this so far, impressed by y’all’s Beatles knowledge.
Wasn’t on the Refuge for the Inside Perfect Club episode. Very excited to listen to this one. Get Back blew my doors off as they say, and the Perfect Club eps always get me thinking about the content in new ways
Listened today- fun listen @KVV and @djpie and @poosh. Get Back was a fun watch for me even though I’m not a huge Beatles fan (I like their music but they’ve never really played a key role in my personal music trajectory) For me it was more the creativity and musicality that I enjoyed rather than strictly the Beatles and the Beatles music.
Curious what bands people would want other “Get Backs” for. For me, cameras and recorders in Big Pink while The Band was writing for Music from the Big Pink and recording Basement Tracks with Dylan would be a no brainer
