The Midwest "Ope"-in August 20th & 21st, 2021: We're Getting The Band Back Together?

That’s fair, I would consider it more Great Lakes/Rust Belt.
Southern Missouri like Springfield is pretty damn southern, but I guess you get into parts of KS and its like that too.
Ohio being in the Eastern time zone hurts its cause for me. Michigan… no real reason

One man’s opinion: To be a midwestern state you need to be in the Central Time Zone.

Your benevolent dictator, I mean chairguis, have exciting news to announce. The size of the field has been officially increased to 68 attendees! I have no doubt that the teams who emerge from match play are likely on the list, plus we all know that some people will drop as we actually get into 2021.

Keep your spot on the waitlist if you have yet to be confirmed; your faith in the Dear Leaders…I mean chairguis…will be rewarded.

Disagree. Indiana is most certainly a midwestern state, as is Michigan. I would personally include Ohio as well.

The government defines the Midwestern states as Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Definitely excited about the amount of participation in the Midwest!

This sounds fun as hell. Hopefully I can make it.

Probably a good thing I’m on the waitlist considering I’m getting married 6 weeks after this and the final payment for the venue is due 2 weeks after. Will hopefully have some time to figure out if money will be a problem or not before it’s potentially time to make a final decision

Well then…since they said so

Jeez that filled up quickly. Hoping somehow 20 people back out and I can make it in. Looks like one hell of a weekend!

As a married Refuge, blow any and all funds on golf prior to marriage.

Your wife is still in the “I definitely want to marry this guy, no matter what” honeymoon stage. That is far more advantageous than the “I married this guy who wants to spend $500 on golf weekends away from me?” stage.

It’s actually kind of nice knowing I’m not the only refugee getting married shortly after this event. I might just count this as my bachelor party, groomsmen be damned.

If we hadn’t had a very sobering money talk (mostly about future house buying plans) yesterday I wouldn’t have even thought twice haha. It’ll work itself out. I’m not really spending any money this winter anyway thanks to Covid.

Had the pleasure of heading up to Lawsonia earlier this year and would love to get back and play it again

I brought it up and she said, “what about your bachelor party?”

Umm, it’s going to be hard enough to get one round in for my bachelor party. I need a different outlet for golf haha. This is perfect

Yeah, I have 2 groomsmen (one is my brother) who don’t play golf at all, and another 2 that aren’t, how do you say, good, more nicely…

Bachelor party is likely just sitting around drinking at a rented house talking smart for a weekend at this point, but who even knows if that happens.

Partying with @anon7197573 would be the best way to spend a bachelor party.

If we’re past COVID, I’ll got dibs on selecting the first lapper for you at Foxtails.
