I almost spit my coffee out when he did the old time journalist to Spieth
My God, the Chargers should put that picture on a postcard saying “This is what being a fan of our team does to you!”
@cwalsh27 @Privatecollection I might have to pull this look for the NIT if I qualify next year
This pod brought back hazy memories of Payne from Hazeltine, which my father attended on some work-related boondoggle, as well as several of the obscure names that were familiar from playing PGA Tour on Sega Genesis in middle school. Lance Ten Broeck was a menace at Sterling Shores (a transparent Pebble Beach knockoff).
My go-to back then was PGA European Tour for Sega (basically PGA Tour II) - all I can remember is Wentworth and having some battles with Seve as Constantino Rocco.
Now I’m going to spend the next hour scouring eBay
Here’s the Faldo post-round standup routine that Soly mentioned on the pod. I don’t think you see this any more where they give the champion a microphone and let him speak. And I think I understand why.

The Personal LIfe section on Faldo’s Wikipedia page is quite the read.
The part where Soly recapped Ian Baker Finch’s meltdown is TRULY terrifying.
Yeah.
But on that topic… just how dumb was IBF to listen to everyone? Have some confidence in what got you there, man!
Sir Nick clutching the Clairet Jug like a drunk holding a bottle of whiskey at a surprise intervention is quite a look.
IBF is not a killer. Side note, we should have a thread or pod ranking single major winners whose game went to total shit after winning that major.
Not sure how I would rank mine, but would consider IBF, Bill Rodgers, Todd Hamilton, Shaun Micheel, Wayne Grady, and Steve Jones in my top 6. Honorable mention to Sergio Garcia.
I will never see Wayne Grady’s name and not think “Oh shit son, that’s Wayne Grady!” Riverside mothafucka.
Is Wayne Grady gonna have to choke a bitch?
I guess it all becomes crystal clear when you ignore his thoughts, experiences, and feelings and substitute your own instead.
I loved this pod.
I know it’s very easy to say from my chair so to speak, but I would love to have more of the them listen to (meaning the deep dive style)
Big take away, the PGA of America needs to step up their game as it relates to recaps/films/highlight access for their championship. It’s unbelievable how scarce footage is.
The Masters
The US Open
The Open Championship
All have their own film production/mini documentaries on champions (some years at least)
Huge miss to not have this for the PGA Championship.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Honestly yes, that sounds exactly like something he would say haha and I dont get the Squairz joke but I am sure he did something to warrant it
No love for Danny Willet?
None
Understandable that he would be mentioned, but the fact that he has found form again and won a couple of times on the DP Tour maybe disqualifies him from the list? I’m happy to debate his inclusion.
