This might make my left handed heart tear up a little. @paroutfromhere doing the lords work.
It hit me like a ton of bricks haha
if you werenāt there iād be driving all around toledo looking for you to drag you there
I have to be in Toldeo for work this week. Status moved to āmonitoringā
Hell yeah!
Got a few more of these bad boys left if anyone is on the fence!
Fuck it, Iāll take one even though I donāt need more coffee mugs
Trade machine finally came through and I secured Feb 22nd and 23rd off. Looking forward to participating. Google Sheet would imply that Iām on a waitlist - is this true?
Just show up. We make pairings in the parking lot right before we go off. Itās not really structured at all. More of a āLook at these morons golfing in 33° tempsā type of thing.
Thereās always a couple of people that decide they would rather stay in their warm bed then venture out to play in the cold on the day of.
Cool. Any neighborhood recs on where to look for a hotel/AirBnb?
@paroutfromhere, any insights?
Echo Jesse, Iām just tying to keep an eye on count for the post round hang at SB.
Airbnb I would recommend anything around UT. Shoot for west of the golf course and youāll be fine I think. @meathaus might be better for that, living in that area of town.
Secor Rd has a few chain hotels that will always do in a pinch.
Ottawa Hills
Completely forgot about this and just signed up and paid for two mugs
Hell yeah!
Theres some good hotels right off secor, theres like 5 of them there I think so lots of options. If you go that route Id probably look at the Holiday Inn express or the Courtyard Toledo West. If you wanted to stay more downtown The Reanissance is the nicest from what I know but theres a Hilton Garden Inn and a Homewood Suites too and the downtown area is good to go.
Thats adjacent to Ottawa Hills which is a good area, I live right across Secor from Ottawa Hills and the mayor lives down the street from me, and former mayor lives 3 houses down.
Anything in that area would be great but a lot of those appear to be whole home rentals, including in my neighborhood which obviously cost accordingly. I assume there are some VRBO/AirBnB in the downtown area as well and if you look at some and have any questions let me know!
Tell me more about this Lebanese place Iām seeing in the screenshot? If thereās a go to place in/near Toledo for this Habibi to find some good food I need to know about it!
Sidon Lebanese Grille and Bakery. Its 100% legit and I say that as someone of Lebanese background that grew up with the food. Great stuff, they even serve kibbeh nayeh, which is a rarity these days. Its attached to Middle Eastern Market which is also as legit as it gets. The signboards at the deli are whiteboard and are in english and arabic, dont think Ive seen a single person working there who isnt of Middle Eastern descent. I actually just got back from Middle Eastern Market, buying some chickpea salad, hummus, pita bread, a spinach pie, things of that nature.
This is all you needed to say. Anywhere that has this on the menu still has to be good.
The only thing that irks me is you cant order it off the online menu to go. So I have to go sit down when I want it. But some kibbe nayeh, olive oil, and some white onion wrapped in pita bread is simply too good to pass up every now and then.
Theres quite a few middle eastern restaurants in Toledo, as we have sizeable middle eastern population for the size of the city, but thats the best one Ive been to in my eight years here.
