Oh no, another Ope Thank You post incoming…
I thought I knew what to expect this weekend. After weaseling my way into a friendship with @Battisstatus and @bignanski, I thought I had heard all the stories, and was mentally prepared for one for one of the best weekends of the year. Boy was I wrong (but in a good way).
From driving into Green Lake at 1am Thursday with Batty, after a 4 hour drive that felt like 30 minutes because of his company, I knew it was going to be one hell of a trip. Starting off with @DombrowBryan and Mr. Stone Creek @drewp, to the Cap/Ass Cap match (and the Amesing of @midwestgolfbum that we both were completely unaware was happening) with @mikedabomb and Nanski.

Saturday had the vibes of @tigergolftraveler, @andrewf, and @BuffaLouies cruising around the Woodlands, and finally the group of DoDs, vibe kings, and dodging lightning of @DrJ, @RunItOut, and @Aham13. And I would be reminisced to forget to mention all the happenings at the Goose Saturday night, from Lisa, to me explaining Blitzball and how I am easily influenced by the Youtube algorithm, to Nanski shouting through everyone (among too many other things).
Evan, you fucking killed it again. Your the reason why this event is the best, you set this shit up, deal with everyones shit, and the courses shit, and probably question why you do it. I sincerely hope that, one, you are not afraid to reach out when you need help, and two, that you personally have enough fun to want to do it all over again.

There are tons of people I should also thanks, @AlCzervik, @BadBrad, Batty, @ajvhandel, and probably more for spurring all of the charity donation. We raised a lot of money, and it’s because of you that this event isn’t just about doing hoodrat shit with our friends.
Shout out to @OffTheDole and Bryan for taking home the first cup, treat it well. Jimmy and @ReallyFatPat, we tried (I think).

How rare is it to have something in your life that after all the chatter for a year (years for some) it actually delivers? I can be glass half empty about a lot (occupational hazard), but the fact that Ope routinely delivers speaks volumes about everyone here.

Our roost region is such a delight. It’s so bittersweet to see the MN guys once a year because it’s an absolute riot, but then realize it’s likely another year before I can watch @bignanski rip the links up with a persimmon while keeping him sufficiently Moon Man-ed. I feel a deep sense of shame for how much I enjoy the Second City crew and for fucks sake they keep getting better the more of them I meet and spend time with (s/o @Setwilli and @ChiFFI). @BuffaLouies I can’t believe I didn’t meet you, which is the only true regret I have from the weekend.
