that’s how I’d view it too. I don’t carry it with me at all either. just have it saved to apple wallet and use the app to get into the store.
We spend more at Costco than any other store, by far. So all those pts hitting the CSR for travel benefits seems better for me.
Oh yeah, the Costco card is only for Costco purchases and gas. Since it’s annual fee is your executive membership fee it was a no brainer when we lived in Chicago and their has was always at least $.25 less per gallon than anywhere else. I have other everyday cards.
Who makes eye of round roast? Am I just roasting that bitch to medium rare and calling it a day?
And what should do with the shabu I bought?
I make eye of round for sandwiches. Season as you like, then 500 degrees for 5 mins per pound. Then turn the oven off and leave it in the closed oven for 2 hours.
Or sous vide and sear
The talk of the Costco exec rebate spurred me to inquire on my household. We haven’t redeemed our rebate since 2018. It is…. Sizable.
As such, has anyone booked a trip through Costco? Is it cheaper on face value or is the value just the stuff they “add” in?
Our honeymoon was through Costco travel. Was able to go find the booking email from 2018. Flights from our small regional airport to sfo and sfo to Maui, rental car for 6 days and 6 nights in kaanapali with $100 cash card, free breakfast every day, $50 dinner voucher was 3k. Substantially cheaper than if we booked it ourselves.
Our honeymoon was also through Costco in 2019. It was to Greece and much cheaper and easier than doing all the legwork ourselves. We had rides to and from all of our locations which was incredibly helpful
Done a couple trips thru Costco, as have the rest of the family. Flights aren’t really a savings, and you can’t use miles except to upgrade once the seat is bought. But the ease of getting everything under one bill and some of the perks are nice. We’ve always done private transport from the hotel and it’s been less than Uber or similar on either end. Also as mentioned above, the cash back cards can be really nice. We got almost 600$ from our honeymoon, and my wife didn’t pay for gas outside that card for a year. Costco also gets a decent deal on some of the upgrades at resorts or sites they partner with, and that passes on to you.
Some of the all inclusive trips are pretty great deals. Some are not. Have to compare them with other ways of booking.
I ride so hard for Costco Travel when booking car rentals though. All major companies listed in a grid of every option and free cancellation, plus you get some skip the line perks at some major airports.
Yesterday I learned that Costco sells the same hot dogs they use in the food court in bulk.
Had no idea.
We did Jamaica package via Costco and saved a lot when I priced out standalone.
And promo brought a Costco gift card for later.
Same.
I’ve never wrapped a tri tip.
