The Cornstalk 2025 @ Landmand GC (Homer, NE) - May 31-Jun 1, 2025

Assuming we can ride next year, we’re doing shotguns both days for maximum bonus golf.

I believe I watched it happen. 3rd guy to go, it was incredible

Bonus golf most hurt by walking situation. I opted out of even doing a quick loop on Old Dane expecting a second walk. It was a wise choice.

Had a similar fried egg on 8 day 2 in the left bunker. I think I uttered the phrase “that’s the best bogey of my life” at least 5 times over the two days.

The gunch eye lashes above the bunkers on 12 we’re so fucking gnarly as well. Anything short on that hole is auto double.

This is incredible. Possibly the most refuge thing that has ever happened.

Mentally I’m liking all these posts. Physically, I’m out of likes because I got caught up on the Post Anything thread.

Can we get a picture of the flag?

Breakfast was being served all day as evidenced by this BURIED lie in the face of the bunker on 14.

Every lie was buried, not that I’d know cause I was stripping it all day to a 106

Played Landmand last year with a group of Northstar guis on what I now understand was a pretty benign day. I came back this year thinking the following:

  • The golf will be easy-ish
  • I won’t need to bring a ton of golf balls
  • I’m excited for some slutty cart golf

Dear reader, none of those things came to pass. It took my day one foursome of @TommyBuns, @Mystic, and @charvey about 11 holes to realize that we were already dead, so what’s the point of caring about score? Vibes increased dramatically. Heard a few times this weekend that you can’t think of Landmand as a golf course, you have to think of it as a golf playground which I think is true.

Highlight of the week for me personally was putting back some cold beers at the local chilis with the aforementioned fellas plus @RunItOut and @grandpa_jones. It was a truly lovely time.

Thanks as always to @bignanski, @kcurry11, and @GRWhitehead for making the weekend possible.

Decided that next year I’ll walk one day as a homage to day 1 (and built in excuse for shitty golf I play)/

Was a blast for my first travel event, everyone was so nice and considerate and not one person rolled their eyes as I was slowly dying out there chasing my ball around. Thank you everyone for good conversations and letting me be mesmerized by your golf swings

Question for the group at large but also specifically @TommyBuns

Do you guis know how Chili’s works?

Thank you for what you do on the internet sir

Yes! Also throw in a few more benches for next year. I almost wonder if carrying would be easier v. having to lug the push carts up the hills through native grass.

It was, my buddy and I carried half sets the second day rather than pushing and it felt considerably easier

Unequivocally, yes.

I just ran out of likes for the first time. That’s how good the Cornstalk was.

I’ve been out all day but I had a fried egg in the fairway bunker on 1 on Day 2 and for a moment thought about turning around and calling it a day

The hill/stairs from 16 green to 17 tee. Is the reason to carry alone.

On day 2 I at least followed @CrucialTaunt ’s lead from day 1 and left my pushcart back by the path, hit my wedge, and then went around on the cart path. Took longer, but worth it.
