To Johnson City Tennesseeeeeeeee
It’s a haul, but doable. I personally wouldn’t, but was with @BTfromDelta when he walked it so he can chime in
appreciate the candor,
Ditto @ahrensgody. I was planning on walking until I was checking in and asked the girl in the pro shop if people typically walk. She said, “like, from the parking lot up here?” And I said, “no, the golf course.” She laughed the word “No” at me. I love to walk but the green to tee out there plus the elevation would make it an absolute death march.
thanks gents …
Which is a shame, because I walk 95-ish percent of my rounds and you would think King/Collins would make a walkable course. But not this time.
It really is, damn it. Long way to travel for cart golf; I’m a Golf in The Kingdom disciple, walking is the most important part. Again, thanks for the info today.
You can do it, just pack light or bring a push cart.
I’d love to see someone pick up a push cart at baggage claim. @Springdog74 do it!
For me, the appeal of walking a golf course is so that you can actually see most of it. You’re not transporting yourself from one spot to the next in an instant.
The thing about Landmand is that it’s so damn big that even in a cart you’ll feel like you’re seeing a ton of it. The scale is just so wild that I didn’t miss walking after our round out there.
Plus it’s easier to drink 100 high noons in a cart.
Now we’re talking my language. I will be walking and carrying my bag #carrynostra.
(Disclaimer)
Respondent reserves the right to use said cart in event of weather related anomalies i.e. high heat, torrential rains or other Great Plains related inducements.
Having gone to college in the Texas and from Arizona I made that trip quite a bit. From Tucumcari New Mexico to about ABQ it’s bad. But west of that it’s kind of neat country. Gallup, flagstaff etc all on 40 there’s some stuff to look at. Still nothing beats far southwest i10 for me
Can you walk it? Absolutely
You definitely want to carry i made the mistake of having a push cart and walking paths not being cut
I remember the march up from 16 green to 17 tee being particularly unpleasant, among others. It was impressive
As a true walking sicko I will be walking it again
Sicko is correct…but I respect it!
Love that, the problem is when 90% of the group takes a cart, pace of play becomes an issue, if there is a smattering of walkers. Godspeed. The course does look amazing.
20 minute tee time intervals
That’s gorgeous
