Unfortunately, there won’t be a writeup about the match between me and @Grambom2 at Pine Needles, it simply does not deserve to be memorialized. The only insight I can offer is that a 10 for 9 won a hole. Appropriately, no one won, we halved the match.
We will not be taking questions at this time. Thank you for respecting our privacy in these difficult times.
Yes, also @ColoniusFunk, did somebody (anonymity is fine) card a 10 (or more!!) to lose, or was this a ball in pocket / just need to finish the hole to win situation?
I had intended to take a picture of the scorecard and crop it to just that hole but wanted to get rid of the record ASAP and forgot to take a picture… But it looked something like this
This all feels like too many questions. Let’s just say that several shots may have gone OB, or perhaps there was some ping-ponging between bunkers and/or also some hedges in play. And was this all occuring while an 11 year old girl and her dad were waiting on us from the middle of the fairway? Maybe…but let me tell you, that 10 footer for 10/9 that @ColoniusFunk drained was a backbreaker.
REMINDER: The Pod Play portion of the CLC matchplay has technically ended… please make sure the sheet is up to date so I can get the knockout bracket finalized
Hello friends, I hope you had a glorious couple of days celebrating America… No better way to celebrate than the launch of the bracket play for the CLC Matchplay.
If you see any discrepancies in the tracker let me know.
@dmmcgaha was our “most points for a 3rd place” SC pod player so he makes it out. @Jnglds was the chosen 2nd place person via a random wheel generator because they had a 3 way tie for 2nd with no clear way to tiebreak.
Rough Schedule for the knockout
Round of 32: July 1 - August 4
Round of 16: August 5 - Sept 8
Elite 8: Sept 9 - Oct 6
Final 4: One of 10/12, 10/19 or 10/26 weekends - location TBD
Some key updates:
From here on out, please announce your match beforehand, hell even try to use the folks in here to help make it happen at a special course. And having a 3rd party witness is great too.
In addition a post match breakdown like you have seen here is always nice.
The person who won their pod will begin the round of 32 up by .5 holes. So if it ends in a tie after 18, they take it.
Match 7: @Smidler vs @LukeBoatright (I know y’all are far from each other… the bracket is weird with one VA person so if this is too hard let me know and we need to make it switched let me know)
Match 8: @fore20 vs @BCates (RIP Jeff… but I know Ben can tell him)
