The Carolina Swig & Swing - 3/14/20 - DETAILS IN POST 826, RAFFLE ITEMS & PAIRINGS POST 1672

You guys are killing me. Called around to every restaurant in the area until I found something even somewhat resembling BBQ for lunch.

Smoked Pork Belly Pastrami sandwich is the best PA has to offer in the dead of winter unfortunately

I absolutely love pork belly, especially smoked pork belly.

Makes me want to head over to Costco and then fire up the smoker this weekend for bootleg burnt ends.

Cube, smoke, glaze? Always like doing the burnt ends

excellent subtle trolling of western NC here

Exactly. Little damn nuggets of pure heaven that just melt away in your mouth.

If you haven’t check out Meat Church’s Honey Hog rub. Granulated Honey does a great job of glazing as it smokes

 whispers: WNC BBQ is trash

Incorrect. You know that in March it can be 0-100 with or without the chance of thunderstorms, tornados, or blizzard. But don’t worry, the next day will be the exact opposite of the day prior.

i was using that 30 degree range as a way of sarcastically saying you never really know what the temp is going to be…

Nobody said anything about absurd amounts, and if you can find me pulled pork that is better without sauce I’ll drink a bottle of your BBQ sauce of choice. Or water or whatever you put on your pork.

Guis.

GUIS!

I love BBQ.

I love to grill.

Totally down to man a grill if we go that route. Just make sure my hand(s) always has a cold beer in it.

If we decide to bring in local grub I’m totally down with that too.

I’m sorry sir, BBQ gets me barking :partycage: mad.

My use of the acronym was in the most general sense.

I like to grill.

I like to eat meat that has been grilled and slathered in BBQ sauce.

I like to eat meat that has been smoked and is accompanied with BBQ sauce.

I like to eat meat that has been grilled or smoked and may or may not need BBQ sauce.

Have I left anything out?

I’m from Iowa. We don’t say ā€œI gotta go fire up the BBQā€ or ā€œI’m gonna eat some BBQā€ or ā€œHey, my buddy is having a BBQ, let’s goā€ We say cookout. We say ā€œfire up the grill/smokerā€. We say ā€œI’m gonna grill a steak/burger or smoke a pork butt/brisket/chicken/whateverā€

Sorry my generic use of BBQ triggered you, but that’s a you problem. I grill ya some meat to make up for it.

I was too. Just trying to say it can be even more ridiculous. Sarcasm and the internet doesn’t always work.

Maybe as part of the cookout on Saturday night, we could have some folks smoke some meats in advance. I wouldn’t be averse to smoking some butts and/or brisket beforehand and bringing a bunch down to CLT with me.

I can do two pork butts earlier in the week and transport from Raleigh too. Reheated is just as good. Two Costco butts should feed about 15-20 normal people or 10 hungry golfer bro’s.
