Some debriefing thoughts from my first Butter Cow (and Iowa golf experience in general):
Des Moines public golf’s bench game is strong. Quantity, quality, number of characters they allow donors to put on the benches - nowhere else compares.
Waveland was a delight and a fun use of terrain that Veenker failed to do.
I will heed the warnings and avoid the Motel 6 Des Moines North next year. Even for Motel 6 standards, it was bad.
I’ll forever be in debt to @GentlemanJim and @Bagumbo for their graciousness and patience helping me sort out my moment of stupidity losing my keys at Grandview while being able to enjoy the purpose of the trip. And additionally @BadBrad for the ride back from Ames Friday night.
Finally, I’m contractually obligated to say Paige at the Rhythm City Casino in Davenport is the best dealer ever for dealing me a Royal Flush in Pai Gow poker while playing the $5 fortune bonus.

Oh yeah that reminds me. Potential day at the sand greens of Wellman and Bill’s home course Stone Creek this fall was proposed, perhaps just as a pipe dream. Just want to put that back out into the universe before the idea dies off
