The Butter Cow - Aug 9-10, 2024 - GPGC Major/NIT Q

I enjoyed Brick City and would be interested in numerous Freedom Lemonades. In fact I may have to pick some up tonight

As always I’m up for whatever. I’m headed back to West DSM Friday night so if the post-round moved down there, I wouldn’t be upset. Technically Urbandale but still.

What about in between the two rounds on Friday? I haven’t done the math on my tee times, but if there’s 90 minutes between morning and afternoon, is there anywhere worth going to around Ames on the way between Coldwater and Veenker?

I don’t know about ā€œworthā€ going to, but there’s always Culver’s

Mullets only til 3 is weird. Brick city may be it again. Ive been to Cornbred and remember it being good BBQ, open til 10 also.

Im unfamiliar with amytjing in Ankeny and open to suggestions.

In between is a free for all. Most people seem to hit Culvers or Jersey Mikes on way to course if theirs time in past. Ive just hot dogged it at course.

Trailside Tap in Ankeny is :fire::fire::fire:

So ends the extent of my knowledge on Ankeny cuisine

Culver’s is always the answer.

I am fan of the Downtown Deli in Ames.

I think Mullets in Ames is focusing on Breakfast/Brunch. There probably are a few places in Ankeny, but bybthe time we all drive there, we decrease the the window for them serving food. Brick City being so close to Veenker is a big benefit.

Seems like a good thing to do this afternoon with nothing else going on

Also someone remind me of this idea next year.

Wonder if we reached out to Iowa State if theyd let us make a par 3 contest at their practice facility either Thursday or Sunday?. Maybe my bro will make a contact there this year as a rival assistant coach :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

So do we just not talk about this week’s weather, much like you don’t talk about a no-hitter in progress?

3 rules of baseball

  1. Never talk about a no hitter when near the dugout/clubhouse
  2. Never speak about the speed the game is moving
  3. Never boast/brag about weather. Keep it to facts and don’t speculate
