The Butter Cow - Aug 9-10, 2024 - GPGC Major/NIT Q

I really feel like we missed the boat here. Imagine driving into this great state greeted by this. Just gives ya a warm feeling.

Welcome to Iowa

They changed the signs and motto to “freedom to flourish” so depending on your definition of flourish I think you can fit meth in there.

As long as you don’t “flourish” in a parking lot at 2am apparently.

I read that as “Freedom to Flush”

God, it looks exactly like my typical yippy driver miss. So low and so left it hurts.

At least one stand at the Fair is already open for business.

Five new beers exclusive to the fair:

Mini Donut Dunkel (Exile Brewing Company): The beer is described as a regal dark lager with cinnamon and vanilla.

Dutch Letter Ale (Gezellig Brewing Co.): The Newton brewery is bringing this new drink, which it says contains almond paste, sugar and a touch of cinnamon.

Pig Lebowski (Twin Span Brewing): The name gives this one away. The Pig Lebowski is a English brown ale that includes — you guessed it — bacon, along with maple syrup.

Rainbow Sherbet Sour (Lake Time Brewery): The brewery describes this as a “playful and fruity concoction” featuring flavors similar to rainbow sherbet ice cream. The drink also includes notes of citrus fruit such as orange, lime and raspberry.

Fair Fudge (Lion Bridge Brewing Company): The beer for chocolate lovers. This contains chocolate husk, chocolate malts and “an obscene amount of chocolate nibs.”

Me pulling into the parking lot at Coldwater for my 8:50 tee time after a 7:00 daycare drop off and 1 hour 50 min drive. Sorry in advance to my playing partners but I just wanted to let you know it’ll be a little tight.

If I were to guess there may not be a time after you so you may be fine and as a 3 some can catch up?. Luckily cops never hang out on highway 20

Any thoughts on food/drinks post round on Friday? I know we’ve gone to Brick City Grill the last two years, but I am not sure if there are any other options that serve food late enough & can accommodate 20+ people. The new Mullets in Ames closes at 3 PM & Wallabys closes at 10 PM.
