Currently yes. Also have lived 5+ years in Texas. Also have lived where authentic Mexican food exists…. Ground beef burrito smothered in queso with rotel poured over the top is an insult to quality food everywhere. Tex mex is trash and I will stay on this hill.
It’s simple. Grow up and eat real Mexican food like an adult. Respectfully of course lol
so… carnitas and barbacoa and not ground beef?
Maybe we consider Tex Mex different things then. Growing up in San Antonio, I considered any place with any form of yellow queso or flour tortilla as Tex Mex, which can be great. With that as my qualifier, I feel there are a ton of good renditions of both authentic Mexican and Tex Mex.
Was the pig cooked whole for carnitas? Is the Barbacoa goat or lamb? You won’t get the real stuff at a chili’s my friend.
This feels like the equivalent of saying “If you aren’t playing a Raynor it’s not real golf.”
Let the record show that I was eating in a small place in Harlingen a few weeks ago, I was at the only English speaking table in there, they for sure weren’t cooking a pig whole, and it was excellent.
Harlingen? You get a pass here I think you’re far more in tune with the more authentic side of things than I thought. Mea culpa.
I mean, the kid is dialled.
Hope the competition in Frisco is as spicy as this Tex mex debate.

No live scores. But she promises to send the leaderboard
I mean, that jacket tho…
Even the NIT can’t stop a Refuge food discussion
Nah it’s fine. It’s retro. Retro is in rn.
It was not a good omen.
reports are it’s windy and we should expect some ejections from the East course this afternoon
