Cassettes look cool though
She absolutely will do multiple versions and art covers etc. She’s nothing if not a staunch capitalist.
Cannot wait to hear this album though. I hope it’s a bit more poppy. TTPD wasn’t really my speed.
A few songs from that album have grown on me but ya didn’t really hit for me either. Midnights and Lover are more my thing at least as far as her more recent albums go.
Midnights and Lover are both great, but Reputation, Evermore, and Folklore are my favorites.
I can understand why TTPD needed to get made. Just wasn’t for me and that’s okay.
I listened to it when it released on launch day with my fiancée. My takeaway was “I can objectively say they aren’t bad songs but I can’t see myself seeking many of them out again” which was the case.
She had to make TTPD for her. I get that.
My “Alison” (favorite TS songs) playlist has these from TTPD on it:
- But Daddy I Love Him
- thanK you aIMee
- I Look in People’s Windows (so weird)
- TTPD
- Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?
- ICDIWABH
- The Bolter
- So Long, London
- Florida!!!
- The Black Dog
- Fortnight
- The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
- Down Bad
Holy crap. If you can guess the point at which I surprised myself by the number of songs, you win 10 points. Then again, the album does have like 672 songs, so that’s not a super high percentage. ![]()
When Coldplay released a recent album, they did a thing where if you ordered from their store, you got pre-sale for tour tickets.
Ordered the cassette for like £7.99, got the presale code and then binned the cassette when it arrived
They serve a purpose ![]()
Sounds like you don’t drive a shit box with cassette deck still.
My daughters are old enough to beg to go to a show now. I’m assuming this album means she tours next summer which means I’m out $5k. Thanks Obama.
My first car was a 1996 Accord, purchased in 2005. I used the cassette deck to hook up my 2nd Gen iPod before the days of the Aux. I cannot imagine a worse sound quality set up.
Now do it in a 92’ Metro. With an aftermarket Radio Shack cassette deck. All to play a portable CD player. With questionable anti-skip.
Did the same thing in an ‘88 VW Cabriolet. With one speaker that sounded like it farted when you flipped the radio on. Still had to cart around the anti-skip CD player with tape adapter though….![]()

Got fired as the producer of New Heights because I kept telling her to talk into the mic https://t.co/foyeJjIuiT

Idk where else to put this……
Nathan Hubbard is a fucking weird dude.
Only about 15 minutes in to the podcast but I’m not sure how anyone could dislike her as a person. Her music? Fine, not for you. But as a person, she seems like she rocks
0 eldest daughters will survive a track 5 called “Eldest Daughter” unscathed
What made you say that? Anything specific? Have you listened to his ESA podcast with NP before this recent one?
Nothing stood out to me. He’s a bit of a take merchant at times. A bit over the top.
He’s a scummy dude. Used to run Ticketmaster and just bald face lie about the business, whether it was about their ticket sales and bots and such or the fact that they had their own secondary ticket engine but would rail against other companies like StubHub. StubHub and all those companies exist solely because of the fixed market Ticketmaster created and continues to maintain. People like him because he is bros with Bill Simmons and seems normal (he was great at his job just slimy) but he’s just a charlatan
Greebs hit the nail on the head on Hubbard above, but also tweets like the below (somehow shoehorning in a 9/11 joke(?) while crashing out about a podcast appearance).
