Taylor Swift - It's a Love Story, She said Yes

Did you mean to say more than something about 1989 and Debut? Or just that you’re listing 1989 as better than the rest, plus a soft spot for Debut?

I think I shit on TTPD here when it came out (can’t be bothered to scroll up too far, sorry) but it has grown on me as my kids have played it more. The Black Dog is possibly a Top 10 song for me. But Daddy I Love Him whips. Down Bad is good. Guilty as Sin is good. The Bolter is good. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart is fun.

I can’t take or leave the rest. Fortnight stinks. So High School is meh. Florida! is a waste of Florence Henderson.

But overall, I am a thumbs up.

This.

It was awesome live so not a total waste.

I find myself singing the chorus to this song multiple times a day, nearly every day

So Long, London ranks above one or two of those for me (Guilty as Sin for sure). Love that one.

And Florida!!! I like. Not love. And I really have a soft spot for I Look in People’s Windows for just how weird it is.

Overall, though TTPD grew on me, too… it still feels like too much of the same. I don’t know that I’d have minded if 20% of it was cut.

I believe it was our hitter @Wabinez who called it a grower and not a show-er. Couldn’t be more accurate in the long term

My wife has been mad for the entire 12 hours since I read this take to her

Curious to hear people’s thoughts on “thanK you aIMee”.

On one hand, it’s acknowledging from a place of emotional maturity that KK wounded TS but then that TS healed from it, grew from it, and that she wouldn’t have “this” without that.

On the other hand, given when it was released especially, it feels a bit like punching down. KK is nowhere near where TS was in the middle of the Eras Tour.

Now, I don’t mind the punching down… it’s entertaining. And many people probably love it. But… it’s still punching down a bit, no?

Yeah nah. KK fucked around and found out. Play on.

It is absolutely wild to me that cassette tapes are apparently making a comeback. Across many genres. Vinyls and CDs, ok absolutely. Superior sound quality for vinyls, high quality sound and skippable tracks for CDs.

Cassettes are the worst of both! lower fidelity and manual fast forward/rewind. What are we doing here?

There’s no way anyone buying them is actually listening to them. Just a collector’s item/another way to monetize selling you the same thing 7 different ways.

I’ve got two Tascam Portastudio 4 track tape cassette recorders in my office. A MF-P01 and a 424 MKIII. I run guitars and modular synths through them.

Love that Lofi tape sound.

Sounds like it’s gonna be a relatable banger of an album

I’m curious if she’ll continue down the path of multiple versions of albums to boost album sales or if that was a one time thing for the last album.
