Strapped: Spring Training! (Arizona) - Touching Fingies and Budget Analysis

Mini-golf with Jason Benetti as course 3? They sometimes play a 9-holer or executive course during Strapped.

Yeah that may be a good call. Would help the budget in peak season down here, I’m sure. I think 9-hole or executive golf is in a different category than mini golf though. Wonder if the C-Suite would go for it.

Like that’s stopped them in the past

Habitual line steppers. C-suite has to start tightening the screws after the South Carolina disgrace (let me be clear, it was not a disgrace and, in fact, very sick).

Just from the traiiler - it appears they had way more fun than in recent seasons (myrtle excluded). Beers being consumed. I have to think the format was adjusted.

Maybe they blew up the hard budget aspect and tried to show off a destination without completely handcuffing the diner boys.

Perhaps Neil and Randy are given the chance to earn more money by doing some work at the course (or in this case, the stadium).

“Crow hop” is a term I hadn’t heard or thought about since about 2005. Some textbook examples in the trailer. Fuckin A well done :+1: :+1:

Love everything about this. The Tom Emanski homage gave me a big nostalgia boost. Did anyone actually own those tapes? Always wanted to watch one.

It’s a quick edit, but unless my eyes decieve me, I think this character at 1:10 could be our hitter @StatGuy.

I seem to recall Dobson Ranch having a coyote statue by the pond to the right of 8th fairway.

If there was one, they’ve taken it down since. I’m right on 8 nearly every time and haven’t had the pleasure of being greeted by a coyote.

Dom being a massive baseball guy means this makes a ton of sense. Love seeing @StatGuy making an appearance!

Your eyes do not deceive - happy to be the Jeff Knox of episode 1 and help a worthy cause at a course I grew up playing

I’m hoping they get a cut from the sales of this new instructional video. I already called and presented two copies. The person who answered sounded very confused, but still took my credit card information.

Gold would seem to have the least Strapped vibes of any of the Wigwam courses.

Been through a million designers and renovations but the course that started as an RTJ brawny monster?

You can have a good times having eagle and birdie putts all day on the Blue and Red is 17 inoffensive parkland holes. Gold is (a) kind of a Frankenstein’s monster and (b) a better tournament course than a casual vibe.

But still excited to see them take it on! What will they think of the 3rd green? Is the tree in front of 17 tee still there?

Edit. I had also said above that I wasn’t sure about what hole was being played by the lefty in the video. I now think it’s #16 at Wigwam Gold. The brick tee markers match the Wigwam. So, if there is a third course, it’s very much still up in the air. I think it’s totally possible with a “Spring Training” theme that day 3 was just taking in a game and playing some putt putt.

I bet it is just the two courses we have seemed to nail down. Was really hoping to see at least one City of Phoenix mini, but since Strapped is about making tee times just like anyone else, those city course tee times are truly tough to come by. Maybe the Diner Boys couldn’t get on.

As a man of a certain age the Tom Emanski callback is nostalgia porn of the highest order. Sports dork catnip. Fan service for sickos.

Full send, Billy Ripken bat, LFG.

@djpie I feel we could all use Strapped Spring training tomorrow after a day like today.
