maybe - but I have a difficult time believing they’re off doing this during Players week which is typically a summit type week in Jax or NLU.
Huge doubt here. I know they posted an image on social media recently but it looked like Soly and Hueber. Not the Strapped guis.
Not likely unless they’ve ditched the budget. Can’t play a goat track in PHX this time of year for under $100
So vague. “At a local course”?
Not buying it.
I feel like if Strapped comes back, it’s going somewhere pretty obscure and not known. I don’t think Arizona fits that
Probably a false flag plant on reddit to distract from Strapped: The Villages
Can confirm as I also saw Soly at a local course last month. “Strapped: WM” hitting the airwaves soon.

(Yes, I realize Soly isn’t a strapped member but go along with it)
If you go to the Phoenix roll call. It’s been broken down extensively that Strapped in Arizona is nearly impossible unless you want to go in summertime.
STRAPPED: C-Suite
TC has to fly economy at the lowest rate with a random carrier
Soly has to play a course with a greens fee less than $300
Their pain is our pleasure
After listening to the Airport TrapDraw (currently about 3/4 through it) I’d love to see TC have to fly that way for a period of time. He’d crumble without his airport clubs.
Seems very sus… Looked like @Randy & @djpie were at the Donnybrook this weekend so that would be a quick turnaround.
Listening to old Nest pods they said it was unlikely but obviously that could change. If they ever did AZ I think it would have to be so far off the beaten path, I’m not sure reddit randos would know about it.
All that being said, here’s my submissions for the three courses of Strapped: Arizona
Day One: Dell Urich Golf Course at Randolph Park Tucson, AZ - A Tucson City course smack in the middle of town, old school muni layout that hosted the Tucson Open in the 80’s. Easy to walk, cheap, and a fun variety. Good way to ease into the trip, this course just might be perfect for the mega bonus. Easy to fly into TUS and get a very cheap Airbnb for the night.
Day Two: There’s a lot of different ways they could go with this one given how sprawling the valley is… but this would make sense: Drive up the 10 to play the Encanto 18, a city of PHX course that would be ripe for the money round at 6,300yds from the one-ups. Bonus points if they could play during the Arizona State fair as it’s across the street, literally.
Day Three: Cruise up into the Tonto National Forrest to play at Payson Golf Course. A little salt of the earth and rough around the edges but this track seems to fit the Strapped ethos, and sits at a higher elevation for Icarito to ride the thermals.
Didn’t know there was any public golf in Payson. Only knew of Chaparral Pines and The Rim. Will need to check that out. Played Dell Urich for the first time last month and really enjoyed it. Encanto is a must for any Strapped: AZ itinerary.
I really and truly urge you not to bother with the Payson muni. Maybe if you are in Payson for other reasons and have free time, but man, it’s not good. It’s in terrible shape and even if it were ever in good shape, there’s nothing interesting there. It’s a field with some holes cut in it.
Yeah I didn’t know about it until I went up there for a wedding last year. Wasn’t the nicest spot and I wouldn’t go back there just for that but cool if you’re in the area.
It’s how old tom wants us to know the game!
Eh, did you see the land Old Tom designed and built courses on?
The sheep would need to do a lot of work in Payson, is what I saying.
I’m disappointed by the lack of decent public golf north of metro Phoenix. I’m either completely oblivious to what exists or not much exists. Would love to do day trips a few hours north to tee it in 15-20° cooler temps.
You’re saying he wouldn’t approve of the par 3 15th with turf squares for tee boxes up on the side of a hill?? Haha
Might change my mind on this. Not in Jax and Randy/Neil are clearly in the same location (matching drapes) with decent certainty DJ is in the same place.
House looks far too nice for strapped though.
Maybe they are doing a Strapped here but their $500 budget has expanded with the Titleist cash. Now a cheap trip is $800.
