Strapped: Spring Training! (Arizona) - Touching Fingies and Budget Analysis

Possibilities:

  1. Switch from Quota to Tilt for Money Round
  2. Minimum spend on at least one meal at a local, non-chain restaurant
  3. One meal must be from a regional grocer and cooked at the AirBnB
  4. No premium upgrades on air travel
  5. No Big Meech shenanigans (tbf I thought it was genius)
  6. Putting a found ball in play costs $$

Oooo I really like the idea that using found balls costs money against the budget

I think it may be that they find a bit more, to the same amount. I find ton’s of DT’s, Velocity’s, and TruFeel’s on the public courses I play. Plus, never underestimate the amount of hacks (Me included  ) that load up on ProV1’s to play what the pros play.

Money won during the money round gets applied to the “debt” from Myrtle.

Same with the Mega Bonus if it’s won.

If they’re playing quota then raise their required quota goal (or make them both play off scratch) and/or increase the cost of being below quota. I believe each point below was $2. Make it $5.

Other possibility, they have to spend $x on gifts for the C-Suite. Some good merch at Spring Training for them to possibly bring back to the guys. Make them dig into their wallets to shower them with gifts.

It would have taken an unfathomable amount of foresight that they’d ever make the move to Titleist, but would have been an absolutely hilarious bit if the Strapped boys had secretly been collecting all of the Titleist balls they found but couldn’t use during the previous 10 seasons…roll up to the first tee with plastic bags chock full of grimy Titleists and set for life for all future Strappeds (not to mention a good marketing opportunity to show how much more popular Titleist balls are).

Money round from the tips instead of the one-ups.
The budget increased due to inflation (somewhere around $750??) but docked $100 for this trip.

Or maybe the punishment was just having to do a strapped trip to Scottsdale during peak season

Make Big do every hair-brained thing you’ve seen done on the course to bastardize the spirit of the game, but play off scratch for his quota round. Fluff lies, take gimmies, lateral drop OB, use a chipper, etc. See if he can overcome the mental fatigue of doing everything wrong

And make Icarito play tilt. cue the music

Shout out to our hitters at the Williams college endowment fund. We can’t make you whole, but we hope you’ll accept this token.

Tell @Randy that he’s not allowed to putt out short ones and he has to give @MerchCzar any remotely close putts. It would be content gold see Big not be allowed to hit every cup and the call from the 13th tee would be so much more anxiety-fueled when Neil has to justify that the mega-bonus should still count even though he didn’t putt out on 8 holes.

As a Williams alum, I accept. (Sadly I only picked up golf after college so didn’t take advantage of the sweet student membership at taconic)

No Taint and the Buttholes?

No cold beers, as a sanction, would be a tough scene.

They broke through the $500 budget once and still got another season renewed. I say test your luck again and dare the suits to do anything about it. I’m just saying (s/o Uncle Juice)

Good thing they’re sponsored by high noon.

In light of the upcoming Strapped Season for everyone that is re-watching, or catching up, on previous seasons. I’d like to share one of my favorite moments, a true blink and you’ll miss it. From Strapped Southern California. Check out this high school kid attempting to catch a sneaky photo of Max in a pretty obvious way.

Let’s go launch em!

I’m sure it’s been mentioned in a Strapped thread before but I’d be interested in seeing what their travel costs for the trips are (I know they have points on airlines and are sponsored by BWM still, I think, so their cost is $0 or close to it, but I mean for what it’d normally cost someone). Sure, it’s nice to cap the budget at $500 once you’re in town and have your car, but much of what handcuffs me from going on more golf trips are flight and rental car costs. Between those two things, I’m typically north of $500 before I’ve even checked into my hotel or Airbnb.

I hear what you are saying, but for me, I see Strapped as more of, “hey man, you can go “anywhere” and play good golf and have a good time.” It’s like you coming to Cruces (the door’s always open) and we could play three of the best courses in NM, with a cart, for less than $175/person on a weekend. Plus, you could get the best green chili enchiladas in the state for fifteen bucks. And for you, I’d buy your drinks all weekend. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think it’s less of a destination golf trip series and more of a be open minded and look around series.
