Strapped - Reno (Renting a home vs. buying a home.)

The ignore function folks, the ignore function.

Let’s embrace it.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world’s first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better…stronger…faster.

this is tough.

Love Soly, Tron, Neil and Randy…but picking Laz DJ and S/O Panther Mike every time.

My high school English teacher had us read this as our first assignment. Been one of my favorites for almost 30 years. Also the number one book I’ve given to other people, by far. How lucky I am to come across a random Tim O’Brien sighting in a golf thread! What a great day.

Hey guys - just chiming in here – anyone have any thoughts on the proper way to play Blackjack?

Same here. I feel like it requires another read now that I’m not a teenager.

This thread…

Needs episode 2 to drop

TTTC is an insane read. We had it in a class titled “the ethics of fiction” my freshman year at Williams.

You never know what’s true narrative and what’s novellized or embellished. Does it matter, though? Amazing.

High school reading list included:
Steppenwolf, The Stranger, A Clockwork Orange, Madame Bovary

I remain surprised at A Clockwork Orange.
(And I used the ignore)

You seen the movie? “I’m siiinnngging in the rain”!

Saw the movie in college. Disturbing. Right around the time Bart went as Alex for Halloween on Simpson’s.

My face is much better suited to radio, but I’d totally put those boys up in my crew hotel room.

The point is your argument isn’t fucking relevant in a discussion about a show where two friends try to have an enjoyable golf trip on a shoestring budget.

Taking this a little off topic, what was the impetus for Strapped? I am watching old episodes and #1 states that Soly and Tron were roasted on the refuge for their private golf affinity. Is that true?

Saw the intro of the boys talking the roulette over and I thought a mega bonus was won…

Having never ventured over to the roulette wheel, please tell me there is not a “right” way to play roulette. Or craps. Or slots.

There is for sure a “right” way to play craps and I am not even talking about best strategy for an edge.

Don’t be a dick and go against the table by playing the don’t pass line. If you do this, you win when the rest of the table loses and vice versa. IMO the best part of craps is when a table gets hot and everyone is winning together.

If you’re going to play roulette at least take the time to avoid double and triple zero tables.

I’ve not been in a casino for a while… is this really a thing?
