Strapped - Peoria

Absolutely loved this after you hear a few tree bounces

The edit of Neil talking about how he wants to eventually play more cerebral and conservative, and then cutting to him saying “fuck it, I’m gonna send this 3 wood around the tree”, was Webby worthy lmao

At first the episode left me feeling pretty empty. I ride with the Strapped boys and especially Icarito (@MerchCzar) . When he hurts I hurt. But wrapping it up with @phegs32 wisdom and the quick recap on @Randy’s magic with the hybrid was inspiring.

The filler of @djpie reminiscing BU days was great and I relate to a lot of this.

Couple things people have pointed out about guest spots on Strapped from Refuge members.
Top 3 for me are definitely @KVV, @HennieB and now @phegs32. In no particular order. Not sure its just another masterclass in editing, but these guys got a way about em that I would love to emulate.
Most cerebral, yes.

I actually laughed out loud at that part. Too relatable.

Man, what a roller coaster of an episode. Though so awesome to see the boys making quota these days. Remember the first few and watching them lose money, was always a tough scene.

This was fantastic and totally relatable. Can’t tell you how many times I go into a round saying I need to play shots I know I can hit instead of hero ball, and after playing a few holes well - hero ball comes back into play!

This might be the Mega Strapped-Road-Crossing

Over a road AND under a road AND immediately preceding the precipitous demise of the guest icarito

Would that mean that @djpie is getting the Purple Kelly edit in those Strapped episodes?

my favorite setup to date in the golf room at my college. first few weeks are always a little daunting, especially as a freshman, but felt right at home as soon as i heard one of my teammates say “tough scene” at practice. NLU is truly a community and watching a college episode while making the transition to dorm life and college makes it really cool to imagine taking a similar trip back in 10 years.

Great job on last night’s episode, @phegs32.

I lived in Peoria for two years after graduating ISU teaching at a Peoria area high school and helped out with the boys golf team. I spent hundreds of hours at Newman either with the team or by myself on weekends and actually miss it a shit ton. It looked firm and browned out in yesterday’s episode! I’m hoping to take a golf trip back to P-Town post COVID with some buddies from the Chicago area.

I’d imagine that life on campus is pretty weird right now given the circumstances. Keep your nose to the grindstone and find chances to talk to people that you normally wouldn’t run across from your home town, that’s the beauty of college life!

Can’t beat that set-up either!

It’s probably worth mentioning that filming in Peoria took place in mid-July during a longer than normal dry spell with extreme heat which is why all the courses look panned out once you get a few yards off the fairway.

Fun fact: At the completion of their final round of the trip at Lick Creek GC it rained 6” over the next 8 hours in Pekin. St. Rappeo is also the bringer of rain, apparently.

I have to ask this question @phegs32 how well does a +3 travel?

My travel game is meh to pretty good. I enjoy competing in the CDGA events (Illinois) and some USGA qualifiers. Been near the top of a few leaderboards, nothing too crazy to speak of. I do have to say my game has been feeling good in 2020. Shot a few low ones lately including a 62 at Mt Hawley CC last week. So now the handicap is +4.5. If you are looking for a net partner then run… run far away from me! :running_man:
