Big fan of @phegs32 need some more low capped refugees representing on the videos. That dude really golfed his ball, hopefully he’ll make an appearance at a meetup/event. Seriously almost my entire teaching mantra is to get people comfortable with their games and to know it doesn’t take perfect golf to shoot your lowest score.
Congrats on the new chip, Scott!
Great episode! 2 things stand out:
- @djpie’s sheer delight to be in Peoria (maybe just out of the house post-quarantine). Breaking “character” saying “fuck yeah let’s go get em” before the round was awesome, you could tell how pumped he was.
- @phegs32 advice… one of those eureka moments. It’s so simple, profound, and it’s never crossed my mind that bogey is okay and that you can break par with a few bogeys. I felt very seen.
DJ and scott were certainly the stars of the show. I laughed a bit at the question to DJ, “Did you rush?”
“absolutely not” sums up how I felt about frats during my schooling years.
@phegs32 was a tremendous value add to this episode.
I feel like the random golfer add-ins can often fall to the miss side of the hit-or-miss (not you though, @KVV), but in the style of the Rewatchables Podcast, @phegs32 definitely “won” this episode. Cool vibe, cool move, good stuff.
Damnit, @phegs32. Why’d you give me such big shoes to fill next week??
I have a bone to pick with @MerchCzar calling him old. Dude couldn’t have been much over 40 (if at all)
Thanks for watching and all of great comments! It was an honor to hang out with the NLU boys. @djpie is an absolute wizard with video editing and storyline creation. Stay tuned for EP3. LCGC is as strong as it gets for park district courses.
You may have noticed my wife was slightly pregnant in the picture at the end. Well…
Dine in pizza bread or to go pizza bread? Because there is a significant difference and I will judge you based on how you answer
Very relatable ep for me. I echo Randy’s frat comments, I didn’t do a damn thing for my chapter but party. Gave no shits about anything else and didn’t participate in any activities other than making beer bongs.
A girl I dated through college went to Bradley, spent plenty of time up there.
Neil’s feelings about the group of old guys was spot on and I feel the same way.
Great stuff from DJ here putting this season together.
Congrats! Prepare for the death of your golf game.
Soggy pizza bread is the worst. However, fresh marinara and cheese on a slightly crispy italian sub bread. OMG. Possibly the best $3 ever spent.
This is 1000% the correct take.
@MerchCzar is obviously a very capable golfer and I feel like this quote is how most of us feel.
Honestly, what bugs me about Neil is that I can’t fucking figure out how he swings it that fast. He’s not giant, he obviously doesn’t have PGA technique, and he doesn’t seem to do some of the typical power moves.
How the fuck does a 2 capper make that speed look that easy?
Knew exactly how @MerchCzar felt when he said that the biker gang just converged on them around the 15th.
A little inside baseball: 15 at Newman is a longer par 3 that forces you to walk down a ravine through a forest and back up again to get to the green. Next, on 16, you have another decent trek through the woods to get to the tee and then have to go down and up a hill to get to the fairway. If you’re walking with a group on your ass behind you, you wouldn’t have seen them since you teed off on 15 and kinda feel like maybe you created some distance. However, all of sudden a squad of carts usually just appears behind you in the fairway on 16. When you add in that it is the hardest stretch of the course to walk and you’re gasping for air, it just sucks the soul out of you. Tuffff scene
Scott made the episode, legend. @phegs32 is the kind of guy who shoots 65, has a few Busch lights and goes home to the wife and kids. Soly is the guy who shoots 68 and writes a novel on the refuge about it.
Dine in. I’m not an idiot.
(to go is a fine product as well. A bit soggy but good hangover food)
