Got out to Madison this morning and sought out the Icarito tree. The pics don’t do it justice but the tree is only 10-15 yards from the green. So close, yet so far.
A commemorative plaque has yet to be erected but I’m sure it is a pressing issue on the Peoria Park District’s agenda.
lol the round starts with Neil trying to figure out which shaft to use because he is in the fucking wilderness with the driver right now. If he had any clue where his shot was going with that I would agree with you but he definitely seemed like he was just keeping it together most of the time. On a course that short where you dont HAVE to hit driver it might be smarter to play to yardages you like…
The C-Suite’s preemptive attempts to discredit the mega bonus/add a qualifier based on the course has grown tired. Last I checked Pine Valley is a par 70; find a new slant.
It’s content/entertainment. C-Suite is playing their role. Unfortunately in this case Icarito played his as did big Randy.
I can only hope that DJ goes full EAL/Golfholics when the mega bonus is hit - I’m talking 3-4 episodes just for the single strapped episode showing 3-6 holes at a time. The C-Suite gets full episodes in between these getting more and evil up to an including double polo shirt popped collars straight from the 80’s to running to the course and trying varying levels of Wil-E-Coyote traps which Icarito/Big Ran humorously overcome.
So a Strapped Episode becomes a collection of 10 episodes within episodes. Strappedception if you will…
All I’ll say is I have one career sub-80 round. I don’t count it. Because it was at Madison.
Neil was done the second he went with a steel shaft driver. Madison’s a course where you either max out distance, and turn the round into a chipping contest, or hang alllll the way back and hit full wedges all day. Either way, the shorter driver needs to be parked for the round. Tactical error.
People are trying to make it seem like it’s some crazy idea when it’s 1 out of every 5 rounds. If they played the same slope/rating for every course he would shoot under par every other Strapped season. Therefore it would be somewhat expected and not out of the norm.
I don’t know about you, but when I hop on a plane and get into town, then go from the airport to a golf course I’m unlikely to play my best. Travel makes it more difficult.
I don’t know, didn’t they stay at that luxurious AirBnB first? Almost C-Suite level.
What does that do to the course rating?
Also hear me out on this…
You do a Whoop sleep score style questionnaire everytime you post a score that alters the course rating. It can even include your Whoop sleep score. A 75 at 20% recovery is way better than one when you’re in the green.
