I resent Baltimore being called Bodymore Murderland. The city has its problems but it is so much more than that.
Rule 1 of getting rid of a nickname: Don’t tell anyone you don’t like the nickname.
I really think that @MerchCzar needs to know that the minute the video is posted, or even mentioned, we as collective fans never expect the mega bonus to be achieved. It’s not a reflection of their own ability, it’s just the expectation of going into a golf course blind attempting to shoot under par is probably the tallest order in playing this game. I personally would love to see them throw in another $250 into the budget and have @djpie thrown into the mix.
Total sidenote, anyone know the title of the Icarito music?
Season 5 was basically a complete mess but was sort of redeemed by two scenes for me: One, when McNulty just eviscerates Templeton in Landsman’s office and two, Jay’s fake-obituary for Jimmy at the Detective’s Wake. I still play “The Body of an American” every time I go to a bar after a friend or a loved one has passed as a tribute to both the deceased and this show.
The people who I know that call it that are generally ones who never actually lived in the city. In my experience it’s life long suburbanites that call it that.
Yup, Tell that to David I’m getting to the bottom of it Steroid Ortiz
Fun fact: The city destroyed the building that “Body-More Murdaland” was famously spray-painted on. Instead of removing it, they just destroyed the whole thing… It used to be on the 1600 block of E. Oliver St and 1500 Bethel St.
I don’t think the name is great either but it has a ring to it
I lived in Annapolis 1987-1991, went to Baltimore plenty of times and don’t recall ever hearing that nickname so I guess maybe it came along later. Looking at the stats, there’s so much more violent crime per capita than Atlanta it surprises me.
Somehow in even greater anticipation for the next installment(s) to see how the guys stayed under budget with this crab feast… those jimmies ain’t cheap!
What a ride! Phenomenal editing job by Mr Pie. An emotional rollercoaster as always.
Given Forest Park Golf Course’s proximity to Leakin Park, this episode could be considered “bring on the cereal”.
New rankings are out.
the only thing that bothers me about The Wire is McNulty’s accent.
He did a pretty good job for an Englishman trying to speak Baltimorease.
His accent in everything not British is kinda weird. I had trouble with it in The Affair. I think we watched the first two seasons and I could never seperate the character from McNulty and the accent was throwing me.
My wife was into The Affair, i wasnt so much. We kinda quit somewhere after season 2.
Not compared to Idris Elba
We need a scene in the Best Buy parking lot!
