We’re finally there… just under 24 hours to go until the Steeplechase!
Before I get into some of the basic details of the event, I just want to thank all of you for your support of this Roost for this event, now in its third year, and throughout the whole season. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish as a Roost and simply cannot wait to keep this momentum (hopefully straight to Sweetens Cove in October!). Our league and community are made better by what each of you put into it, so as always, if you enjoy your time with us, tell a friend. If you don’t, please let me know.
Now, on to the details!
Following this post, you’ll find the tee sheet and flight lists. Please make sure to review this information and plan to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your tee time in order to check-in and get situated. Given the recent clubhouse construction, there are no practice facilities on-site so if you’re in need of a warm-up, make sure to find an alternate site to get that range session in.
Jeffersonville is a great walking course, but with the recent heat wave coupled with the humidity, I’d certainly recommend taking carts. There’s no extra cart fee associated with it and I’ve already printed off cart signs to make things easier and more organized.
As for the raffle, we’ve got a good variety of options available and we’ll be able to be accept payment at check-in for those entries. As in the past, each raffle entry is $10 and we can accept cash or Venmo. Following the round, we’ll run duck races to determine the winner of each raffle at Skramble House.
In order to keep things consistent across the field, all men will be playing from the green tees and all women will be playing from the white tees. Your individual handicaps have been locked since Tuesday and the quota goal is computed as 36 - your course handicap. The flights have been divided up based on individual handicap, so there may be some slight overlap.
Your scorecard has already been updated to reflect the modified routing that Jeffersonville is currently utilizing during the construction. Additionally, we would like to have one member in each group handle the live scoring functionality through Unknown Golf. If you are unsure of how to do that, I can assist you prior to the round.
Following the round, Bob Taylor and Marc Kolonoski will be collecting scorecards and verifying scores against what is reflected in the live scoring.
Once we get to Skramble House, (the KOP location), it’s our space to enjoy, so let’s make sure to take advantage of that. We’ll have multiple coolers on-site with drinks, but we’ll need to coordinate to plan for a food order.
EDIT: Forgot to mention this in the email that just went out from Unknown, but if we have a few extra people able to bring along a cooler with some extra beverages, that would be huge. I have the RCC cooler packed with a bunch of Voodoo Ranger varieties, (huge thanks to New Belgium Brewing!!), but if you have a preference, you should definitely plan to bring that along. We should have at least one with a case of water and we can always re-up on ice at the Wawa right next to JVille on the way to Skramble House.
I think that covers everything just about everything I wanted to get through, so please feel free to give me a shout if you have any further questions.
Thanks guys!
