Stanford Women's Golf AWITL: Now talking about Rachel Heck's Decision

From what @LPondgolf told me earlier this year Rose will need to win to gain membership this year. And then her points can begin accruing. So I think earning her card this summer/fall is very unlikely.

I also may be misinterpreting what LC said lol.

In any event, I think Rose will be at Q-Series and will earn her card for 2024 there.

I think it was Beth Ann’s article (I didn’t know this but would make sense) if she accrues what would equal to 40th or better on CME list she earns her card. If not, she goes to Q Series

Nice to see you checking in shortly after vanquishing your foe 6&5 today.

Not a bad start to the pro career through 45 holes.

At least some of us believed in Rose.

Thoughts with @FrankWalker at this difficult time that a Stanford player won an LPGA event.

@MondayQInfo can empathize with the PGAT copying ideas like this.

If you’re wondering how her 2023 has gone, per the first Golf Digest article I read when I googled her to find out, this is her return to competitive golf after having a rib removed in March to treat thoracic outlet syndrome (not enough room for blood vessels and nerves leaving chest cavity, you get arm symptoms, remove 1st rib to make room).

And just returning about a week ago from Air Force ROTC training for a couple of weeks!

For some reason I thought she was medically out of ROTC, but maybe I am just misremembering that.

TLDR: Rachel Heck to remain an amateur. Great blog post, and I’m sure it was a difficult decision. It takes an impressive amount of wisdom to understand that you can’t find all your identity in your work.

The “I don’t know what I’m doing. I just want to be next to you," quote from her dad got me

Interesting that it’s “Why I’m remaining an amateur” and not “Why I’m not turning pro”.

Going into private equity after graduating. Might be on the Stew Hagestad approach of winning a bunch of mid am events.

My biggest takeaway from the Week in the Life was that Rachel Heck will be successful at anything she decides to do. She has always shown a maturity well beyond her age and this is another demonstration of that. It is incredibly hard to be honest with yourself when the external expectations are all going one direction and the internal compass is going the other way. She’s an admirable person.

Really liked the piece until that part

I think Emilia Migliacco (spelling?) may have played after she graduated college? Maybe not technically a Mid Am, but similar idea.
