Splash of OJ (Florida Roost)

In the immediate vicinity there’s:
Crane Creek Reserve (Melbourne “Ross” muni)
Duran GC (most acclaimed in the area)
Viera East
Baytree National (playing there tomorrow)
Habitat
Spessard Holland (shorter course)

Wider Area:
Sandridge GC (36 hole county muni)
Cocoa Beach
Great Outdoors
Sebastian Muni
Harmony Golf Preserve (good layout when in good condition)

Hour Drive:
PGA Club Port St. Lucie (tough get in high season)
Glynlea CC (possibly best conditions on this list)
Astor Creek GC
Royal St. Cloud
Eagle Creek
North Shore

Happy to help narrow this list down with any follow up questions or criteria.

If it’s truly a “sneak out” round in the immediate vicinity, $32 to walk the 6,000yd Crane Creek will do you just fine. If you want the full FL high season snowbird golf experience then Duran, Astor Creek, or Glynlea are the ticket. That Glynlea is under $100 right now is insane given how pure the greens are.

Fantastic, thanks a million! I’ll do some digging into the list and might hit you up with a question or two.

I’d second this sentiment. It’s by far the best value for golf in south Florida right now

Little cross-promotional piece for the hockey fans

Baytree greens were mint 2 weeks ago…

You weren’t kidding, nice top dressing and firmness right now. Too bad the rest looks like it does.

Hey man, think this may be how I’m leaning but think I need to play on Monday so it makes our car logistics easier. Are you able to play Monday morning ish?

I can’t do Monday unfortunately, but I checked the site and it doesn’t look like there are any tee times that day

Played there last year (during the million square feet of chaos week) and thought they were both pretty good. The homage to TOC is meh though.

So very true…I will admit to laughing a few times

Looks like a 10am Sunday just popped up, I booked myself on it if you (or anyone else) would like to join!

I’m actually playing there at 1:30 with my FiL on Sunday before the Super Bowl

@LiveAdam

Thanks for the recommendation guys! I’m planning to book an early tee time at Glynlea on the 12th as soon as it’s available. Weather is looking quite a bit warmer as well!

Hope you enjoy it. Forecast back in the high 70s to low 80s will be nice. Tee sheet opens at midnight, there’ll be a 15% booking deposit. Coming from the north there’s nothing to get a bite at the Midway exit, so if you’re looking for breakfast stop at Exit 129 (there’s a Waffle House).

Not completely sure which exit you take coming from the north, but There’s a McDonald’s, berry fresh, Starbucks and Chick-fil-A on the east side of i95 on St. Lucie West blvd. A little out of the way, but nothing crazy

Hi All,

Electric Phactory member popping in to get course recs. We’re taking a family vacation to 30A in mid-June and I’m wondering if you can recommend a place for me to try and sneak away for a round during the trip. Camp Creek looks to be the closest course to the AirBnB we are staying at but from what I gather it’s private for their guests and members only. Looking for any and all recommendations you can give on the area, golf or otherwise.

Edit: apologies, I’m just now seeing there’s a whole 30A specific thread. I had just searched Florida and didn’t think an entire thread would exist for that sub area.

Hey guis, headed to Clearwater next week for Spring Break with my family. Hoping to play a couple of times as Monday-Wednesday is open. I’ve got Dunedin booked on Monday. I had hopes/plans to play at Belleair but they may have fallen thru so looking at contingencies. There’s also a chance that it could still happen. Any suggestions? It would be my 15 year old son and I. Thanks!

I’ve got Bardmoor booked for Tuesday. I may just cancel that and go Monday and Wednesday

Is it worth the drive to play at Cabot Citrus on Wednesday?
Karoo or Roost course?

Is CCF good FL resort golf? Absolutely. The property and amenities are there and continue to improve.

For $300/pp are you guaranteed to love it? No. The courses, and particularly the green complexes, can be divisive. If you can enjoy the wow factor while not worrying about how many 3-putts you had, you’ll probably be fine.

If it’s a first visit it’d have to be Karoo. Ultimately people may decide they’d play Roost more often, but Karoo is still the headliner.

I think you’ll really enjoy Cabot - fantastic setting and facility. I’d stay clear of Bardmoor at all costs, couldn’t be more different of an experience. Took me 3 hours to play 6 holes at Bardmoor one time and the course is in C-tier muni shape, at best.
