This is my opinion, I vote for somewhere in the middle. Only because I want to get out of the house for a day and maybe a night. But as @IlliniGolferHack said this up to the people, so I am putting in my vote.

What’s with the donkey? Why wouldn’t we be using a bear? The fountains and fleur-de-lis are nice elements for the design - but the state outline should be included as well. It’s the Missouri event - should probably have Missouri in the logo.

Look up show me state, pretty much dating back to forever a Mule has been associated with Missouri.

Just went and read about the history of the seal of Missouri - will check show me state iconography.

As designed in 1897 - never knew there was a belt buckle to represent the right to secede or “unbuckle” from the union:

Can the mule-headed wayward golfer be 3D printed for the trophy?

Yeah adding the mule logo would be sick

Searching “show me state” and “show me state missouri”… a uterus shows up in the google image search before a mule does.

Looks like the mule is the state animal though - so I guess I get it. Honestly - in 30+ years, I’d just never seen the mule used for MO.

That being said, the wayward mule logo is sick.

Okay I’m getting some good feedback gonna go into the lab and get something worked up

Gustin golf course just got back with me and gave me a quote for $50 for cart/fees for 27 holes. So that is a start.

I contacted Ruth Park about renting out the course. Will report back

I live in Maine but graduated from Mizzou—and I rep KC. I would totally fly in for this (if invited).

You’re more than welcome!

But just remember who your daddy is in the Braggin Rights game

Sounds like a true son to me.

If the trophy is The Wayward Mule, I might hire a swing coach. Gonna have to have that thing. That sounds so effing cool.

Children’s Mercy in KC and Children’s in STL (among 4-5 other programs as well) and with only 2 more months of school, gunna doubt it haha

Definitely in for the Show-Me-Showdown and would vote to have at it alternate locations.

Everyone has a say in this. I think 3 course have been contacted two in the CoMO area and one in STL. We also do not have a date or even a range. So not really the most ideal way to find a venue. But feel free to contact or let us know where you think might work.

To be clear, I’m realistically like a 10-20% maybe on this, so feel free to ignore. But I think trying to reserve a course introduces more complications than necessary for the first year, and at this time.

First thing is to pick a date. Then from the individuals that are “committed” to that date come up with an agreed upon location (city). From there pick a course and see if you can reserve a block of times. I would think the course would want a deposit to reserve the block, which will solidify the commitment from individuals as well. After you get the date and location set you may have additional people pile in and you can expand your block.

Or at least that’s how I’d do it.

I 100% agree with Travis. I host one of these yearly and without a firm date first everyone will give you a lukewarm yes. Get the best date for majority interested (google forms work good for this), then contact courses all over and ask for availability of 4 or 5 consecutive tee times in the morning and afternoon 5 hours apart. Only a few will be able to accommodate and then put out another google form for everyone to vote on the location. An overnight stay and play package will probably get you the best deal. Idk if a 2 day even makes sense but 36 holes on a Saturday, if its not close to all, most guys are going to have to stay 2 nights (since the morning tee time would have to be early) or not partake in any extra curricular during the golf event.
