Thanks, man. I knew you were in so I wasn’t too worried about it
What time do we expect to be wrapping up? I have a dinner that evening that I can’t miss.
I don’t really know. If we say 4 hours for each 18, with an hour-ish for lunch, that would put us at around 6pm
I apologize for the late response. I am out. I just had a kid born so no can do for me.
Congratulations! But also get your priorities in order and make that kid get a job already
Does anyone have phone numbers for these guys that could possibly text them and ask them to get in touch with me? No response to being tagged on here or on slack, and not responding to DMs. I’m about to start working as if they’re not playing, but I don’t know that I can find 5 more people this late in the game
Carts will be good. Everything is close. If 9 holes takes us more than 2 hours you’re a terrible human.
Don’t know any of those bad dudes.
A round of alt shot and a round of scramble should make things movie quickly too
I nominate you. I know you’ll give us your all and lead us to victory.
Also, thanks for all you do online.
Im going to email the 2 OATW guys from the email they left on the roster, but I have no way to contact the one FCF guys (Siebs), so I’ll leave him on the roster for now but am working from the assumption he’s not playing. Haven’t gotten any help in tracking him down, so if anyone has a friend or family member with a valid handicap, we will take them on the waitlist
We now have at least one open spot
We now have at least two spots open
On a somewhat related (and equally important to golf…Eats…question), I’m planning on driving over from Cleveland on Friday afternoon and staying overnight in the Perrysburg area for an easy drive in to Napoleon on Saturday morning.
I was planning on maybe going out to Deet’s BBQ in Maumee for dinner this Friday…is anyone else around the area that wants to join? If this spot is a no-go, I could be convinced to meet up someplace else.
This might be a situation where we have to adjust teams on the fly Saturday morning.
Does this mess up the total cost to the course? If so I’m sure we can come up with the $200.00 between all of the actual attendees to make it up day of.
Finally, thanks for every thing your’re doing/have done to put this all together. I know from experience that running an event is a pain in the ass.
We now have 3 open spots
I don’t know what the solution to this is other than requiring full payment at signup, with no refunds, but having multiple people drop out after saying stuff like “I never intended to play” or “what are the details of the event. Oh well that’s too far for me to drive” is REALLY frustrating
We now have 4 open spots, actually
I’m going to contact the course to see if dropping from 32 players to 28 would be a problem for them, because we would need to find four players, not just two, in order to make the format work
I don’t think asking for some sort of deposit for future events is unfair. When the events start getting planned out during winter when everyone is excited about golf, a deposit should mean you’re serious when you sign up for an event and intend to be there, and not something you do as a “well if I end up being free that day, I’ll go.” Plans change, everyone gets that, but watching this event’s participation unfold in real time the last two weeks or so has been a little ridiculous and I absolutely feel for you right now.
If we get 28 players it’s $14.30 each to make up the lost player “revenue”. I highly doubt anyone committed to the event would complain about that.
36 holes at what I’m seeing from others is a fantastic 9 holer, and a great time amongst good people for $114.30 is a a bargin.
Completely agree with all of this.
Still trying to figure out my logistics for this, I haven’t decided if I’m staying in BG Friday night or driving up Saturday morning. If I come up Friday I would be open to something
