So they’re converting it into… just… a big plot of land?
I have heard this is a power move by the owners to put pressure on the town/county to allow them to build the spa they have wanted to build across the street from the resort
Todd & Laura Cook the owners of Bristol Harbour have been trying to build Everwilde Inn and Spa on 46 acres across the street from Bristol Harbour since before they bought the resort in 2016. They thought buying Bristol Harbor would get town on their side and allow them to build the inn and spa and expand as part of the resort. The town has not budged yet so they are hoping the threat to close will help get approval to build Everwilde.
So do you think it’s only a threat? Who will come out on top? What’s the town got against an “inn and spa”?
That’s the burning question and it’s not like the area couldn’t use the potential extra tax revenue it may bring in
The town is worried about a number of environmental issues arising from the spa, number one being the chemicals that would be coming out as waste into the sewage treatment plant, they are not sure it can handle the chemicals and don’t want to risk the chemicals polluting the lake and drinking water in the area. I think the town will probably cave and allow the spa to be built, they don’t want to lose the tax revenue from Bristol harbour as well, but if they don’t I would bet Bristol harbour is closed for good
Makes perfect sense! Didn’t know a spa could cause that much of an environmental impact.
That is some amazing video. When I was 15 I caddied there for a summer and got to play the course every Monday with the caddies and staff. I wish I had a better memory so I could compare the before and after. I’m hoping to shamelessly leverage a couple business connections who I know are members to take me out there this summer.
New here, been a lurker for a bit. First post. From wny, member at shelridge country club in medina. Haven’t played much buffalo golf, always went Rochester way.
Anyone looking to play a round? Seeing where the golf is played on here. I can get folks on at shelridge country club in median. And I’m available to drive to play.
Latest Bristol update seems to be that the owners will be closing Bristol Harbour for good and building a new house on the property. They have their three existing lake front properties for sale at the moment.

Howdy all, has anyone played Ravenwood lately? They have a notice on their website about the greens being in rough shape…just wondering if that’s still the case. I’m driving from MA to WI next week and that’s one of the courses I’m thinking about playing along the way.
I haven’t played it since June but friend of a friend plays in league there. Said it is pretty bad and the greens are very bumpy. He said he wouldn’t pay to play there right now, even with the discount. That’s a bummer because it’s one of the top public tracks in the region.
Thanks for the info. I’ll probably head to Whispering Woods in Erie in that case.
Heading up to Penfield in the morning for the annual member-guest at Penfield CC (I’m the guest). Always a good time at a nice course and a really well run tournament
They just aerated the greens at WW too. A week ago. Should be healed up but thought I’d mention it. Been a very hot summer with a LOT of play.
Enjoy! That course backs up to my neighborhood and have a couple good friends who will be playing.
Thanks for the heads up. Should be decent enough by then I would think. If not, I guess I’ll just have to give myself everything inside of 8 feet.
Any idea why? They have issues with water at some point?
