best bang for your buck in NOVA? I mostly play at twin lakes because it might be the easiest course on the east coast but anywhere else good that is also not too expensive?
id have to think ole prince willy is up there when it comes to bang for your buck if you dont mind riding out that way
yeah I was gonna say, if you want bang for your buck, drive 2 hours south and play twice for what one round would cost, and probably around the same pace of play too.
I still got a standing offer for round on me if any of you degenerates make it to Roanoke
Herndon, brambleton, algonkian would fit that description imo
Second Herndon for closest to price of the Twins, which I play a lot at because it close to Arlington. Falls Road in Potomac is good too. I do like Langston especially the back nine which is more open and longer. You would not know your in DC in that 11-17 stretch.
Pleasant Valley, PW, Bull Run for afternoon rounds.
Echo if you drive an hour to two hours and you get more for you money.
Thanks for the suggestions, I know it is just part of living here, but I just cannot get my fresh out of college self to pay 70 dollars for a sub par course.
yeah my under 40 membership down here is less than that a month lol
That blows my mind.
yeah they jacked my rates up from 53 to 60 this year. The nerve of them…
I’d put it at 2.5/5 stars. Not bad, not great. $50ish to play on sat am. I play at raspberry once a year for work and its ALWAYS in twice as good of shape.

For reference when i moved to Roa from chicago, my parking spot in IL was $25 less a month than my mortgage here. Roanoke is about the cheapest place on earth.
ive only played it once, but id certainly give it more than 2.5 stars
the last 3 were in the dark, but she was in stellar shape that day
haha they damn sure were in the dark
Jeez I would pay that a month to play on 0.5/5 course haha
This. My brother lived in Roanoke for two years before he decided to come on back up to Richmond. Rented an entire house for $750/month.
We cover all of VA/NC for work, when this business was planned and being set up, the COL here was def the hook. Pretty area if you’re into mountains, my dad bought a decent (2600 sq) probs 200-250k on its own in town house, on 45 acres for around 300. My sister was paying more for 1/4 of a house rental at VCU.
Gonna be in the Albermarle/Nelson County area for a few days next month (3/6-3/9ish) if anyone wants to link up for a round. Might scoot down 29 and check out Poplar Grove as I haven’t made it out there yet.
I got nothing on my calendar that weekend, can def do something
figure this is the best place to start with this ?..
I def want to host an event here in VA down at my track, but they are very very reluctant to rent all day. I can get a half rental, or a block of tee times pretty much any day we don’t have an outing, and a cut on the price (and RAC rate is like $50 anyway lol)
Is the all day course access a deal breaker for any of yall?
Ideally would like to get a bunch of VA guys, challenge the NC boys to a duel.
