For sure absurd price to play there, however playing with a member walking is affordable (maybe 60 weekend???) and sometimes they post on supreme golf ect for like 75 in afternoons.
The Championship tee on this hole (#9) is way back in those woods up the hill. The last time I was out there, it was completely unmaintained. We went back to hit a ball for giggles.
I got a hot rate there one time in the afternoon for $50 and was pleased.
I have limited recip rights there through my club, so I have played it a fair bit. They recently changed from full recip to limiting us to 2 tee times a day. I don’t know if that was their decision or if my club pushed for it. We are getting a ton of play, and I think more of them come to our place than vice versa. It is disappointing though. I liked the option to mix it up a bit.
As for that rate, I don’t think I payed that much at Ballyhack last time out (your mileage may vary, I may have gotten lucky via some favors).
if you played with a member, no you def didnt
unaccompanied guest is like 125 there on the weekend
I’m playing for half that at old white tpc
head scratcher
Yea Ryan Homes killed half the back nine with an all-world tacky subdivision but otherwise a great golf course.
Played a Charles Banks (Raynor/Macdonald tree) design in Virginia Beach yesterday - love the template holes…
Cavalier? I’ve heard really good things, and we make a 2 day trip to VA beach for golf every spring that got shut down this year.
have played the sig at west neck (rip) and cypress pointe thus far on the “better day” an then I have an unwarranted love of ocean view for $15 lol
Sick! Lol
Its not hard. Its not in good shape, and its exactly the same kind of muni I grew up learning the game on. VA beach/norfolk has a GREAT muni golf system going
I’m particularly fond of Red Wing as long as it hasn’t rained recently
Sewell’s Point is worth taking a look at as well. An old Donald Ross course that is usually in very good shape, and on the cheaper side too.
I have been meaning to get out there and have yet to do so. Going to make sure I check that one off the list before the year is out. I did play at The Woodlands over in Hampton which is also an old Ross - cool and quirky.
We played Namsemond (sp?) too last year on the way back on 460 and I thought that place was pretty cool too. LOTS of swamp
Yeah its definitely pricey. I will say its the best course conditions in the area no doubt. It’s not an easy walk though either. I don’t play often but its always a treat when I do.
Had no idea the woodlands was a Ross.
Nansemond is awesome. Or at least it was, I played many a high school match there.
They’ve been sending emails for $35 to ride 18 on the weekends too, and as of last year that was more than a fair price there.
Yeah that is an awesome deal.
Every played Suffolk Municipal? That place was pretty brutal in high school lol.
