We doing anything in state or is the NOVA roost doing anything this fall event wise?
We’ve been talking about a statewide match play with “pods” from 4 areas of the state to get more folks involved.
I’m hoping to put together a proposal over the next few weeks and see if we can get some Tim interest.

DMV Roost season just started, but the focus is more on just getting 4 people together and finding a game somewhere. We’ll have a few larger events, but given 2 of 3 events last year could have just been accomplished by getting 4 tee times back to back I’m focusing on people just playing golf when and where they can.

makes 100% sense to me bro. I was astonished to jump from 19 to 30 plus this year. BTW I did sign an unformal agreement with the PD River Course to have the 3rd annual 3BR there again on July 22 2023. IDK if you want to incorporate that into the season or its too, but if you wanna throw that out to the group now, its going down for sure.
I would be happy to host or set something up if we can find 3 other people that want to play here in Oct. Bent greens are prime right now, and here in Oct when the leaves change the blue ridge is a fun play and ride down.

I have to go to Richmond in November for a wedding- what courses do y’all recommend?
Looks like the Vista Links in Buena Vista got bought and will maybe be saved (?!?!?). Anyone know anything more about this? New ownership for Buena Vista golf course - YouTube

It depends on how much time you have and which side of Richmond you’ll be on, but Royal New Kent is only 30 minutes east of Richmond, it’s a good time.

VIiniterra,Royal New Kent, and Providence are the semiprivate options that I play when I am home. The Federal Club is my favorite course I have played bar none.

I heard a wealthy board member at the small college up the road SVU bought the course. Wasn’t sure what the intentions were behind that purchase but hoping they keep the course open. Love that place.

The bones are so good there. Just need some TLC and maintenance help. Last time I was there the fariways were almost as fuzzy as the rough.

yeah I’ve never played it in any kind of shape better than I’d say a 2/10. Its so different than anything else around me was always a cool draw.
