The River course at VT is running an aerification deal for $29 during the week and $39 on the weekend and it includes a meal. Or, $25/35 without the meal.

I think there’s a small handful of us in here.

wanted to share this with yall, Roger is a friend of mine and plays out of my home club. He is trying to raise some funds to help get to a few events for adaptive needs golf this year. May have a smaller VA outing and duck race at some point to help, for example he needs grips soon and such. Really cool story tho, give it a listen if you get a few mins

VA BEACH National or Riverfront for a friday midday round in your opinion first week of may?

VB Nat’l will no doubt be busier, if you’re real concerned about pace of play. Hard to say as far as which will be in better shape by then and I haven’t been to either in a while.

Anyone have any insights into how these courses are nowadays?

Trying to do a last min, just my dad and I Father’s Day weekend trip.

Gave us this lineup for $300

I spent some time with some Williamsburg folks last week and two of them are members at Williamsburg National and had a lot of good things to say. Colonial Heritage also came up as one of the courses they would recommend in the area (I never played it when I lived there). Neither Kiskiack or Viniterra came up. I played Kiskiack and liked it, but that was like 12 years ago.

Obligatory RNK, golf now hot deal is still the way to go.

I say it’s Spendy but add Golden Horseshoe, and take the other half of the day in Colonial Williamsburg.

Viniterra is fine. Can be slow depending on day. I take my daughter out there, and even with two dads and two kids, our group is often waiting.

Thanks all. $300 seemed like a good deal but just wanted to see what everyone thought

Question for the group. I’m driving from Tobacco Road Golf Club to Detroit. Where should I make a tee time along the way?

Oakmont, but if you can’t I’d recommend Royal New Kent it’s another Strantz. 30’ min off of I-95.

What cities are these courses in? Plus I’m looking along the west side of the state since I’m driving to Detroit, Michigan.

Oakmonts in Pittsburgh - and a joke. I drive underneath it coming from Northville to Williamsburg VA.

RNK is in New Kent County, a little outside of Richmond.

Yeah that’s a bad fit for your drive.

Fastest route back to Detroit only puts you in VA for an hour across the southwestern most tail of the state. There’s nothing down there except overzealous local cops with speed traps. I know people who have been arrested for driving 10 mph over the speed limit there so be careful.

Better golf options will probably be found around Charleston WV or Columbus OH along your route, I’d suggest checking out what’s available in those places
