At this point, I can’t fathom the border being opened any time soon.
True. One was in July the other December.
Dude, you forgot huge COVID cesspool of disease.
This is a fucking yikes!
Edit: Also, with this PGA Tour golfer’s Twitter post having been up for two hours, congrats to Ryan Armour for being the only one to have liked it thus far.
Got 27 holes booked for Saturday at the home course. Makes the hour and a half drive to get there more than worth it. Should be a nice weekend here in Ontario, so I hope you folks can get out as well.
Where’s the home course? Hope the weather works out. Have a round booked Saturday as well
I play out of Pike Lake, just outside Mount Forest. Lots of great golf up that way, between Pike, Saugeen, Goderich Sunset, Circle Pine, etc. Also far less expensive than the GTA.
Yeah definitely not hard to beat the GTA on price. You definitely have some quality golf out that way
Definitely!
Also, only being 30 min from my door to Chester is great. Decent course, great views, couple good food/beer spots.
I’m in KW, that’s a place I’ve been looking to check out. Wife wants to get a trailer for the kids, I want golf, Pike Lake seems like a great compromise and is not too far away.
My parents have a trailer there, which is why I’m a member. It’s a really well maintained course, and has a lot of replayability, and a family owned place. The owners are stand up people who really look after you, especially if you get involved in the community. Happy to speak more by PM, and if/when this thing blows over, more than happy to play a round up there.
Anyone ever heard of this homemade course or know of this gui? Very interested if anyone knows anything more. Property is located northwest of Toronto. Stumbled onto in Reddit today… gui dug out the pond 15 years ago, then builds 3 elevated greens with the excess dirt and has a layout with 7 holes. Hole lay outs below:
1st - 135 yds
2nd - 230 yds
3rd - 245 yds
4th - 210 yds
5th - 155 yds
6th - 165 yds (over pond)
7th - 195 yds (over pond)
Assume that its a Par 24? (2nd, 3rd, 4th all Par 4?)
Don’t know that one.
My brother has played the one at 8th Concession and 18th Sideroad, between Nobleton and Schomberg. Not so much homemade as just super private.
I’ve driven past that - what’s the story?
As best I remember, the guy invented some part that goes in every airbag or something like that. And I guess likes to golf.
That’s the dream
I drive by this property on Highway 21 fairly regularly an I am ALWAYS stricken by the worst case of envy when I do.
Mark my words, I will build something like this one day. It won’t be pristine, but I’ll be able to hit a 7 iron.
This is very close to me. My buddy’s uncle’s place. Crashed there a few times when I was a teen but sadly never played the loop.
Cabot released their stay and play deal for NS residents. Basically the same as their fall deal. Two rounds and a nights stay for $355. Not awful considering it’s late June/early July, could actually get some decent weather in CB.
