Also probably worth it, at a discounted rate - whether that’s twilight Tuesday or a last-minute booking Wednesday AM. Keep an eye on it for price drops?
Another vote for Tarandowah. Pretty close to a can’t miss.
Nice. Looks like Tarandowah has a $60 special on Wednesdays too, so I think that’s the play. My sons fly in at 2p, so should have time for a morning round before heading east to get them. Maybe a Tuesday evening Roseland round the day before.
This is a great 1-2 - Rosie gets busy so watch for the tee sheet opening date / time. Depending on timing we might be able to find a Ducker or two to join you… paging @JakeFrank @bordercity @Phillongbird !
I would recommend the three courses at Osprey.
Glen Abbey has seen better days. Pure cart golf too.
Wanted to give my guy @GuiCL a big shoutout.
It’s been a couple weeks since the Montreal trip and other than never getting to see the sun it was a fantastic week. Will definitely have to travel there again.
Some highlights and recommendations to future people.
Vin Mon Lapin was absolutely sensational. The food and the vibe was so perfect. I went with the chefs course special and it was one banger after another.
Au Pied De Cochon was really good. Their ciders were some of the best I have had in a while. Split Pea soup with Duck is a combo that I didn’t know I needed.
One spot to add to the recommendation list would be Resto-Bar Le Pick Up. One of the better burgers I had in a long time.
Great to hear, thanks!
Hey duck club, checking in on you seeing how you’re all doing. Me and @BWillows90 are coming out east for the NGL National Final at Hamilton G&CC. Any of you folks going to be there? We’ll be around Hamilton from May 24-26 looking for course recommendations or people to play with.
Playing partners might be a touch thin as we have an event out near Windsor that Saturday, but someone might want to jump in before or after. I’m flying in for work, have the event Saturday and a round Sunday I’m afraid.
Course recs - Lakeview in Mississauga would be high on the list. The booking system is a drag (register in advance, and be ready to rock the day the sheet opens as it fills instantly) - but it’s a golden age muni gem. Had some cosmetic work done a couple years ago and it’s really shining.
Copetown is another Duck Club favourite near Hamilton - really fun, good greens, great land. Or a little further afield the TPC facility about an hour NW has a pair of really good courses (the third is mid-reno - I can’t remember if it’s open again yet or not? Tagging @noslenod for the latest…)
Thanks for the recommendations - everyone is telling me Copetown is the track to play, so I’ve got an 11:10 tee time on May 24th, looking for two more to join me and @BWillows90
I read this and thought huh an event near Windsor, missed that one. Then I realized Petrolia is near Windsor if you’re coming from 3 provinces west
Hey, local Winnipeg resident here. Belong to a private club and have a friends at others. If you need more information feel free to reach out and I can give you the lowdown on what we have to offer.
Unfortunately our public golf offerings in the city are some of the worst in Canada so private is the much better option for any golf die hard.

Hello Northern Neighbors,
I have a quick work trip to Toronto in about two weeks and looking for your best advice on how to kill a Sunday afternoon in GTA?
Haven’t booked hotel yet, but have to be in Oakville area Monday morning.
Hit me with your must-see hotels, food, and bars or neighborhoods!
Where’s Waterville? The only one I know is near Montreal - hopefully I’m missing something because that’s like a 7hr drive from Toronto!
Oops, good catch! I’ll be in Oakville area, not Waterville, but intend on staying downtown/near union station for the night.
That makes a lot more sense! I’d spend my time enjoying downtown if its just an afternoon - Trinity Bellwoods is a lovely neighbourhood to wander. Bellwoods brewery is great, there’s a ton of good food around there too. On the northeast side of the park there is my favourite cocktail spot, simply called Cocktail Bar. Couple of blocks north of that is a delightful dinner spot called Pompette - killer French food. Or head further east in to Kensington Market for a slightly more hectic vibe - Grey Gardens is a little oasis in the chaos for a glass of wine.
For some culture, the Art Gallery of Ontario always has some fun stuff on. Or maybe catch a Jays game if they’re in town?
Hotels will be a lot cheaper if you stay near the airport vs downtown, or out in Oakville. But I’d sooner spend my Sunday in the city proper, then roll out to Oakville Monday. Trust google on timing for that drive, it usually takes longer than you think.
Hello friends. Stopping by to pop my Refuge cherry. I’ve recently moved to Hamilton and have been slowly checking courses out in the area.
I normally try to get out solo when I can but wouldn’t mind meeting some fellow refugees and nesticles. I plan to eventually get out to some events and show you guys exactly where not to hit your tee shots.
Cheers!
Hello gracious hosts for the Midwest roost regional. Does Roseland have a range to warmup on? Any other details we need to know about parking, attire, etc.? Don’t really have a direct line of communication to y’all, so I want to make sure we aren’t missing anything important
