Roll Call: The Duck Club | Canadians, Beer and Cow Pastures

Anyone else scrambling to get their September round in before the weekend? Probably going to have to play on Friday :grimacing:

It isn’t looking too good…

Managed to jam mine in on Monday in Calgary - a delightful 22 degree afternoon! Wind was howling, but we can’t have it all I guess…

October will be much tougher here - I’m busy Saturday, heading to the woods for a week+ Sunday. After thanksgiving golf is a tough prospect here.

Just played kananaskis for the first time and wow. The golf was fun, the course was in great shape, greens were quick, and those views oh my.

Amazing! What are your thoughts on the two courses? Favourite 18? Best hole out there? How’d you play?

My gripe with Kan is they had the chance to build something truly special and instead it’s just two good courses with awesome views. I don’t know if it’s a knock more of just a what could have been. Don’t know if there’s a course on the planet with a better post round spot for a burger and beer though.

Maybe going against the flow but I prefered Lorette, there seemed to be a little more placement consideration required. All around both courses though you could get in some really tough spot with the speed of the greens, and bunkers protecting direct lines to them.

I had such a great time, and the vibe was a very very welcome rinse staff wise from our LIV north day. I also played well, 77, and 80 with a penalty on 18…

I wish the og plan had played out but had good company despite it. Notably I played with a kananaskis area local who was on his 180th round of the year… every single day pretty much was the story.

I will definitely make a plan to get back.

I kind of agree. Is it the best course or courses, maybe not, but legit world class views bumps the ratings. The course was in fantastic shape. The staff and whole experience there was top notch start to finish. Highly recommended for anyone remotely considering it.

Shoutout the grumpy pro, the terrible service in the bar, and the fuss about a collarless shirt.

Actual honourable mention to Emerson in the half way house though - free snickers because I remembered her name? Go on then.

Gotta love Fall golf. Dim light after work and searching through leaves to find your ball. Still gotta get those rounds in though.

You in the KW area @duff76

I am in the London area but would make the drive for a round anytime!

Gonna be super questionable whether or not I get my round in today :grimacing: dropping my in-laws off at a wedding just before 4 and with the nice weather and early sunsets, I have no idea what’s going to happen. Fraaacckk.

Looks like you have a great setup there. What pushcart are you using? My sister got an awesome one from Costco but they always seem to be sold out of them now.

It’s the ClicGear 3.5, great cart but a little cumbersome to fold up and enough $$$ for what they are. My wife has the 4.0 and I don’t like it as much.

Looks like they don’t even sell the 3.5 anymore, at least on their website. These pushcarts are so nice but the price can really soar. I’d love to find one for < $200

Check kijiji / FB marketplace. I got two 3.5+ for $200 each last summer. Gave them a tune up and they rock.

@duncmitchell needs two carts - one for his clubs and the other for the viiiibbbeeesssss baby
(Also extra balls)

Golf Avenue sometimes has deals on pushcarts, worth keeping an eye on

Why you gotta do me like that?

Also, yes.
