Roll Call: Tampa Golfers

Hey gang, potentially planning an Innisbrook trip for next fall. Anyone have any idea when they usually aerate? TIA

If flying to Tampa to play Streamsong, where else would you play?

The public golf scene in Tampa leaves much to be desired. There’s nothing I would really consider a must play. If you have the access then Palma Ceia and Old Memorial are must plays. If Cabot Citrus Farm is open and you can secure a tee time then I’d say that’s a safe bet.

It’s in the opposite direction of Streamsong from tpa, but belleair west is a fantastic course if you can get access.

You’re being far to kind, JS

Played this a couple years ago and truly enjoyed it. Former home of the PGA of America. And the famous Ross turtleback greens were honestly a treat. Great value.

They post dates for each course online

Yeah I ended up finding that. Thanks

Didnt love Copperhead.

Shutting down March 1st for renovations. Say they will be back open up by November, but I highly doubt that.

I was pleasantly surprised with copperhead but the no walking rule is utter nonsense. I played it while it was CPO in the run up to the valspar and they made us take carts.

Yes, CPO for me too. A joke.

Buckhorn is so fire. The value of the membership is very much, so worth it. The place gets rowdy.

Pretty wild to read that message given how much my golf and professional life have changed in the five years since I wrote that. None of it, and I truly mean this, none of it, would’ve happened without discovering No Laying Up.

This EDSBS tweet remains evergreen:

What are the membership fees looking like these days? I’m in S. Tampa and trying to figure out if it would be worth the drive?

Drunkest I’ve ever been with a golf club in my hands was hitting glow balls off the Buckhorn covered patio towards 18 green at midnight in a fucking monsoon. Pretty sure that was the same day as a huge yelling match because a guy wouldn’t let another move his ball out of a pile of wet dog shit in a money game. One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen at a golf course.

The place is filled with real degenerates. I love it.

Tampa crew - posted this in the OJ thread, but probably makes more sense to come here…

I’m going to be in / around Tampa Super Bowl weekend. Flying in Friday night, looking to play Saturday. Booked up at Cabot Sunday morning before going to meet a vendor for the game a couple days of meetings after that.

Anyone around Saturday Feb 10th and want to play? My current idea was to drive all the way to The Park if I’m solo, but would love to meet some locals. Happy to travel (obvs) and staying in Tampa Friday / Saturday nights.

@ASplashOfOJ have a spot at Huntington Hills in Lakeland tomorrow morning at 8:36a if anyone is interested

Damn, not available that weekend. There’s not much good public golf in the Tampa area, you’re likely gonna be on the road to find something decent
